Both tunnels are being built by the NATM method under the station and railway line.

CPTM | Line 11-Coral (Luz-Guaianases-Estudantes).

Poá station.

After months of works (and a long delay), the upgrade of the station has been finished.

The station has now escalators, shelters on platforms, signalling for disabled people, and a lift (elevator).

For what I read, it seems that it's precisely at Mogi das Cruzes where level crossings are a problem the most.

I also remember at least one at Itapevi, and the ones at Caieiras, also at least one in Sâo Paulo (Jaraguá station).

CPTM | New rolling stock.

Ok, so at least one class 8500 is already running on line 7-Ruby. According to the Sâo Paulo state governor, 19 class 8500 trains will go to line 7-Ruby.
This seems to be a political decision, as originally CPTM seems to have wanted all class 8500 on line 11, to cascade class 2000 to line 12.
However, it seems that there's a delay in the delivery of class 9500 trains (by Rotem), and politicians have decided that the priority was to get rid of the oldest rolling stock as soon as possible (class 1100, 1400, 1600, 5550). Elections are coming...

It also looks like class 4400 (second oldest rolling stock, from 1965) will remain for some time, since, despite their age and lack of confort, operation-wise they still seem to be more or less reliable.

The fate of class 2100 is unclear, as they're the third oldest rolling stock (built in 1974, and unfit for commuter rail), and they really need a replacement, but the fact that they have air conditioning seems to be an important asset (Brazil weather matters...).

And, even though they've been refurbished recently, class 5400 (ex-class 5000), running on line 8-Diamond, is not entirely safe, either...

The only trains that seem to be safe from being withdrawn from service are class 1700 (old, but not that much -1987, but no air conditioning). Or at least, that's how it looks like by now...

This tells you a bit more about class 8500 on line 7-Ruby:

METRO | Line 5-Lilac (extension Adolfo Pinheiro-Chácara Klabin, under construction).

It's not confirmed 100%, but the new deadline for line 5-Lilac seems to be to open Adolfo Pinheiro-Brooklin by July 2017, the rest later by the end of the year, the last station to open being Campo Belo somewhere in 2018.

At the moment, it goes like this:

Metro

1) Line 4-Yellow: Higienópolis-Mackenzie station (2017), then Óscar Freire station (2018), plus extension from Butantâ to Sâo Paulo-Morumbi first (2018), then to Vila Sônia (2019).

2) Line 5-Lilac: extension from Adolfo Pinheiro, first to Brooklin (2017), then to Chácara Klabin (2017), leaving Campo Belo station to be opened a bit later (2018).

3) Monorail line 15-Silver: extension from Oratório to Sâo Mateus (2018), then to Iguatemi (2021), then probably Vila Prudente-Ipiranga (no date), then Iguatemi to Cidade Tiradentes (no date, realization unclear).

4) Monorail line 17-Gold: section Morumbi-Brooklin Paulista-Congonhas to open allegedly by 2018 (but it's delayed). Further extensions from Brooklin Paulista to Jabaquara and from Morumbi to Sâo Paulo-Morumbi have no date as of now.

5) Line 6-Orange: section Brasilândia-Sâo Joaquim to allegedly open by 2021. Further extension from Sâo Joaquim to Sâo Carlos, then Anália Franco, then Cidade Líder have no date and its execution remains unclear. Same goes for the extension from Brasilândia to Vila Clarice station, no date.

6) Monorail line 18-Bronze allegedly to start works soon(ish).

7) Line 2-Green: extension from Vila Prudente to Anália Franco, then Penha, then Dutra, has no date and its execution remains unclear, although compulsory purchases have been made.

8) Line 4-Yellow extension from Vila Sônia to Largo do Taboâo being planned.

9) Line 5-Lilac extension from Capâo Redondo to Jardim Ángela being planned.

10) Line 19 being planned. Would run from Campo Belo (on lines 5/17) to Guarulhos city, through Hélio Pellegrino, Brigadeiro, Bela Vista, Anhangabaú, Sâo Bento, Dutra.

11) Line 20 being planned. Would run from Lapa (on lines 7/8) through Faria Lima, Rebouças, Hélio Pellegrino, Moema, Sâo Judas, then Santo André (on line 18).

12) Line 22 being planned. Would run from Rebouças (on planned line 19) to Cotia, running through Hebraica-Rebouças and Butantâ.

CPTM (commuter rail)

1) Line 9-Emerald extension from Grajaú to Varginha to (re)open by 2018/19.

2) Line 13-Jade from Engenheiro Goulart to Guarulhos Airport to allegedly open by 2018 (but there no trains have been ordered for that service yet).
At a later stage, it will be extended to a new station at Tiquatira (shared with line 12), then maybe towards Chácara Klabin (no date).

3) new rolling stock to replace the oldest trains.

4) upgrade of Jardim Silveira, Jardim Belval, Quitaúna, and Osasco stations on line 8-Diamond (the latter shared with line 9-Emerald).

5) upgrade of Francisco Morato station on line 7-Ruby.

6) upgrade of Água Branca station on line 7-Ruby, to allow a better connection with future metro line 6-Orange, which will probably involve line 8-Diamond also calling there. Rather expensive.

7) Expresso Leste on lie 11-Coral will be extended to Suzano very soon (2016/2018). Its execution depends on the rate of delivery of class 9500 EMU's.

8) Planned extension of line 12-Sapphire from Calmon Viana to Suzano. No date yet.

All data are subject to change, some chosen routes too.

CPTM | Line 12-Sapphire (Brás-Calmon Viana).

Class 2000 EMU's are being cascaded to line 12 from line 11 after the arrival of the new class 8500 EMU's.

A class 2000 EMU leaving Itaim Paulista station, bound for Brás.
You can also tell a class 1400 EMU in hindsight.

Another class 2000 EMU leaving the same station too, but this time bound for Calmon Viana.
You can also tell a class 5550 EMU in hindsight.

The consortium in charge of the construction, operation, and maintenance, of the future metro line 6-Orange at Sâo Paulo, electoral flag of the Sâo Paulo state governor, Geraldo Alcmin, announced the halt in the works.

The consortium Move São Paulo, formed by the companies Odebrecht Transport, Queiroz Galvão, UTC Engenharia and by the fund Eco Realty, declared this Monday (5) that they were encountering problems to obtain long-term funding, "which is necessary for the continuity of the project".

The fund aside, the three companies that are part of the consortium, are being investigated by judges because of the Lava Jato corruption scandal, under accusations of tipping politicians, which may affect their capability to obtain loans from the market.
