Paulista and Faria Lima only.But they are desperate to open at least partially until March 30, when the current state governor no longer will be able to participate in openings or leave plaques with his name - he will be a candidate for the federal government... they're talking about "assisted operations" by March 26, probably with very limited opening hours.

Everything is behind schedule, The main transfer stations of Luz, Republica, Pinheiros will only open after July, I'd say October (election month...) so line 4 will be of little use until then...

Brazilian TV video on the new CPTM trains. Some 36 new trains will be bought for line 8 (West side) at the cost of US$ 1 billion.

And now a blast from the past, a great video showing the old Cobrasma Francorail series 5000 trains which today serve CPTM line 8 in the West Side.

I sugest watching it on youtube to view it widescreen in HD! Apparently this same model still operates in the Paris Metro. In Sao Paulo they appeared between 1978 and 1981. They are the longest compositions in the city's metro today, with 12 cars.

Absolutely pure GOLD!!! Great, great photos. Was that an open house tour offered by CPTM to the public in general?? Or was that a private tour??? Are there any future tours planned?? Would very much like to be placed on the email list for any future dates.

Hhehe I know very little of the nature of those tours, you see, in the ranking of most rail-crazed forumers, I rank around 76th.

You have to hang around the Brazilian Rail Infrastructure Forum

Every now and then one of the forumers (especially Tiago Costa) organizes such visits to both CPTM and Metro, you have to participate in the specific thread of the visit and say you want to attend. Those are arranged private visits probably granted to SSC fanatics two or three times a year. Since there are many left out, there might be an other one in a few months.
