mopc, regarding the CPTM article, they mention these two new lines in the system. Which ones they are referring to (as we usually talk about Metro new lines only here ).

The ABC Monorail (Line 18) will be built by Metrô-SP. The two new CPTM lines will be the Line 13 (Guarulhos and International Airport) and the light metro (monorail or light rail) from Line 8 to Alphaville.

Sao Paulo is creating a great rapid transit system with it's monorail.
I have been a strong monorail advocate as I see it's inherent advantages over many othe technologies. The great thing about that system is that Bombardier got the contract and being Canadian, it's nice to see.
Toronto and Montreal only really have one supplier, Bombardier of course, due to government funding they get and the production facilities in Quebec and Ontario.
Toronto is about to waste $8 billion on an LRT line which should be Metro or monorail.
Often they state that monorail creates a huge shawdow like other elevated systems which I keep telling them is not the case, unlike Vancouver's SkyTrain, but they listen not.
Under the Toronto transit section there is the thread for the Eglinton rapid transit line. It would be great if one of you could tell them what you are doing in Sao Paulo and put in those great pics which show both the ease of construction and it's small footprint and no overhead shawdow.
It would be REALLY appreciated.

well it would be nice if a Canadian person, who has a stake in the issue, would use the pictures posted here to illustrate the matter and debate the specific Toronto problem. I have no knowledge of the Toronto situation, projects and related issues. I would be glad to provide info on the Sao Paulo monorail lines, which I know relatively well.

Usually if you right click on a picture in a webbrowser, the menu gives you the option of copying it's URL address. Copy it and then paste it here between [img] tags (the second tag should contain a / before the img]

Or use the image button above as the forumer above indicated.

I can help you set up an appropriate post

Isso ta um pouco ultrapassado, a Linha 4 amarela já esta quase acabando, e acabarão a 1ª estação da linha 6 Laranja que vai ser muito mais moderna.
