Going out in Khartoum

Been to Khartoum very often over the last years. Mostly the days end up in meetings and lunch/dinner just at the hotel.

Would like to go out a bit more. Any suggestions for meeting locals and foreigners?
Of course no bars in khartoum, so how and where do you bump in to people? At a restaurant one doesn't just walk up to people at other tables - how to meet people in Khartoum? Tired of just hotel stays..

go out through the neighborhoods and you sometimes find women making tea for people under some lovely trees............ go chill there and you will meet some people...........normally they are people who you dont know and mostly they will start a chat even if you dont know them

Yes, I do have different business partners in Sudan - Sudanese and other nationalities. Sometimes, I just don't want to go out in a business context.

I have some things in Asia before going to KRT, so I will connect in Dubai with Emirates. Always use them for the service and comfort for my travels to Africa.

Other good airlines are Cathay Pacific if going from HK to the US or Star Alliance companies between Asia and Europe.

Yes, the suites on EK (Emirates) are fantastic. Glad when going on EK - however whatever class travelled, leaving Khartoum is always sad. Wish I could do more for everyone there - people do their best and the chai is great.

Well, you know EK has first class, but QR does not. However, I agree that QR is a good airline.
Leaving KRT is sad because it is an interesting and challenging city.

Just about going there now. Been very busy the last few days. Good luck with your exams. As long as we do our best no one can ask for more - right?
