So this shit's serious, the name of South Australia is seriously going to be changed.

Yes. The State Government has hinted at Yankunytjatjara in honour of the language that is spoken by aboriginal people in the far north of the state.

Why Yankunytjatjara? There are other SA Aboriginal languages that are much easier to pronounce such as Nawu, Kaurna, Narranga, Kokatha, Mirning, etc.

If someone asked me to name a Canadian province, all I could think of would be Saskatchewan. Tongue rattling names are good for tourism!

I like Narranga, then we could refer to South Australians as Narrangutans

The Libs have come out in support of Yankunytjatjara. But they have suggested that it should be the full name of the APY lands in the state's far north. Which is Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara

Possibly to get more votes in that region for the upcoming election in less than a year?

honestly it take 10 seconds to explain what south Australia is and if people still don't understand then maybe there's something wrong with the people explaining it. Why the fvck should we have to change for people who can't google it on wikipedia or something and the fact that it is actually been considered is ridiculous. Just shows that the cultural cringe has got to go.

So they want the state name to change from South Australia to Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara?

To quote Gordon Ramsey... 'f*ck me!'.

Hong Kong's proper name was supposed to be Victoria, and is still shown on some old maps. Hong Kong was the name of the island, Victoria the settlement on it.

But then Macau's proper name is The Holy City of The Name of God, which is only slightly worse than LA's full name.

Ha!, there is no link because I just made the whole thing up . Sorry but I couldn't resist after Skyline Art acted all naive, and then when everyone else believed it I just went with it. The State Government has already announced that SA is not changing it's name, and I'm pretty sure I heard the other day that the Libs are against it aswell.

Goddd I can't believe some of you believed it, I thought you would of clicked after saying it's going to be Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara. Fuck trying to pronounce that!

Why not just rename SA to Eastern-WA?
