I went to Den Haag, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht some weeks ago. I didn't go to Delft and Gouda though. But these cities all seem very nice.

Are these pictures taken in May? Because I was there in May and the weather was amazing like in your nice photos, something not so common in Holland!

Yup, I was there in late May. Weather turned out to be fantastic and it's been raining since. I usually try to do these trips on short notice.

Usually by car. It's only a 2.5-3 hour trip to the Dutch coast. Trains tend to piss me off, particularly when the waggon with your seat reservation seems to have gone missing (**** you, Deutsche Bahn!).

Driving in the Netherlands is thoroughly enjoyable as well. For some reason Dutch drivers are on their best behavior back at home but behave like Vettel on our Autobahns.

The Netherlands is too small to act like a Vettel, the only serious autobahn we have is the Afsluitdijk (a7), there is no effective traffic control/patrol over there.
