Azerbaijan Discussion. New era in the country.

So, I don't want to bump Eurovision thread by posts about the renovation and regeneration of this country. This is why I decided to make this one.
Sorry for writing some negative posts.
Jersey posted Baku pics, cause he thinks its better than Russia. I was too angry, sorry.

Today i will go to Azeri Cultural Centre in Moscow, and its very fantastic.
When I visited it in the first time, i was amazed by those Mac computers on every desk, design related with national culture etc. Will take pics for you.

Baku photo-thread is here

Now reading The Guardian and The Observer from today. I see they tell us tales about "the human rights violations" , as usual.
(Song contest can't cover up violations in this country)

Also, i was embarrassed when I saw couple of articles on BBC Russian site, once again, not about Eurovision, but about human rights once again

Why British media is so anti-Azeri now?

There are 2 problems:
1. Corruption, traditional for Azerbaidjan.
2. The day when oil ends

If people here are pleased, why do those human rights of some few ones matter?

scrape away the shiny surface and under it you have people going missing after they are arrested by the secret police and massive amounts of state corruption.

Seems like someone been watching BBC and Channel 4.

Also, I certainly could not understand why Channel 4 dedicated allmost everything to critizing SOCAR, Azerbaijan's state oil company?

BS organized by BP.

Let me tell you about the contribution of Azerbaijan to Russia and other countries

I think the most famous Azeri Russians know is
Muslim Magomaev

He was one of the most famous singer of his time in Soviet Union
Women loved his music so much
One of the most famous ones, song about Moscow

His monument in Moscow

There's "Baku" magazine sold in Moscow

In Batumi, there's monument dedicated to the friendship between Azerbaijan and Georgia
called "Ali and Nino"

Cultural Centre of Azerbaijan in Moscow

Here's the interesting fact
Azeri nation is the mix of turkish , albanians(not those modern ones) and local tribes.
But azeri are mostly of turkish blood.

Azeri language is still really much to same to turkish, and most of people understand turkish
