Those buildings are too strong. Then why demolish them. A good renovation is the best solution.

A note about the Tarfside Oval blocks in Glasgow: Three of the four Tarfside Oval blocks were imploded; the other block has to be dismantled by a high-reach excavator due to its close proximity to nearby townhouses.

I didn't know that Chicago had a building implosion. The Lakefront Homes in the Oakland community area of Chicago. Three 16-floor public-housing buildings, opened in 1961. Their implosion occurred on December 16, 1998. A reason I find this unique is because most of Chicago's other public-housing highrise buildings were demolished by manual means.

There was a bunch of them in Chicago. Like you said Lakefront Homes and then there was Robert Taylor and a couple of the Cabrini Greens. There was also the Cuneo Press Building. There were also building imploded for the movies "Blues Brothers" and "Child's Play".

....and I forgot the old Brachs Candy building was located in Chicago and imploded. It was dressed up like a hospital for the movie "The Dark Knight"

I didn't know that some of the Cabrini-Green and Robert Taylor buildings were demolished by implosion. I did say that all of the Cabrini-Green and Robert Taylor buildings were demolished by conventional means, and I don't think there's any evidence of them (especially the first C-G and RT blocks to be demolished) being imploded.

Actually, the old Brach's Candy Factory building was demolished via wrecking ball/excavators as well. You're referring to when a small modern office building on the factory site was blown up in 2007 for a scene in the 2008 film The Dark Knight.
