But doesn't it have a whole range of addresses? Like, 50 HY is going to be on a huge plot, and would definitely have addresses that front on W. 34th. That's what I'm getting at.

Yea I agree. The One Hudson, LLC is throwing me off. Lol.

If the retail podium is meant for the McD site shouldn't that be under a different business name? Let's say 50 Hudson, LLC?

Ah damn, I missed that. Yeah, that would definitely point towards 55 Hudson, since One Hudson was the former name of that project when Extell still had it.

Well, maybe it'll be a podium situation here as well:

501,000 sq. ft. is pretty massive for a 17 story building. What may be happening here is a podium with a retail base surmounted (possibly?) by trading floors or large floorplates for a tech firm. Maybe they want to build this stuff now and wait for later to shoot up a tall tower.

RW, VG made a good point that the filing lists One Hudson, LLC, which we figure corresponds to the 55 HY site, since that was the original name of the project before Related bought it from Extell.

From the look of those most recent renders, it appears both 50 and 55 HY are going to have a retail base, so we think that's what this is.

55 Hudson Yards
http://chelseanow.com/2014/02/hudson...ern-rail-yard/

710 ft
51 Floors

Quote:
55 Hudson Yards, a 51-story building which is planned for along 11th Avenue, noting its placement just steps away from the forthcoming entrance to the Number 7 subway extension (along with the bottom portion of the city-funded Hudson Park and Boulevard, another new green space which is set to open by the end of this year). Referencing the building’s smaller size — at 710 feet tall, a good deal shorter than 10 Hudson Yards — Samuelian jokingly called 55 Hudson Yards “our boutique building,” and said Related will be focused on attracting a tenant base there that will be quite different than the massive companies moving into the two towers below West 33rd Street.“It’s really going to be targeting law firms and financial firms,” he said. “In particular, the building is really suited to law firms because of its narrower floor plans, which fit with their more traditional approach to office space.”

What's the building with the curvy roof to the left of the round one? I love the design!

Sucks about the height decrease but hopefully those SF will be moved somewhere else.

it's good to finally get a height figure for this building. Sure, it was taller when the site was owned by Extell but it's still taller than most buildings in the city and would be amongst the tallest in many American and European cities.

I mean yea I guess it would be the tallest in many Asian and South American cities, it just depends which city :P

It also wouldn't be the tallest in many US or even Canadian cities... I really like the design and the roof and am kind of glad it isn't super duper tall because the complex needs a smaller building to work well.

If this building were to suddenly pop-up in South America, it would be the 4th or 5th tallest in the whole continent (depending on how you count Alvear in BA). This one measly 710ft building would be the tallest building in Brazil (until 2016 at least). So it would be the tallest in the vast majority of South American cities absent Caracas, Buenos Aires, or Santiago. That's impressive for a D-list skyscraper in NYC.

Well I guess to build up a more natural skyline you need varying heights of buildings...
I must admit I am disappointed of this buildings height decrease, but I was never really impressed by it anyway
Will the height decrease of this building mean that air rights can be transferred over to another building to make it bigger?

Not really sure if I should post these here or on the Subway thread, but those guys don't seem to care about above-ground work

Hudson Boulevard Park, now featuring lampposts!

It's really going to look bizarre having a little patch of manicured green space surrounded by an unholy mess for the next 15 years.
