I think you're seeing the touchdown of the High Line. According to this render, taken from the West, the High Line park will connect directly to the base of the building...

Hudson Yards Official Site

...but I'm a little dubious myself. The High Line currently terminates quite a bit further to the West of this site, and I don't believe Related owns the site in between the current terminus and 55 HY.

Still, it's a pretty render, so one can hope.

Yeah, that does look great! It's odd that that parcel was left out of the original masterplan.

With this tower they've taken the black steel frame windows of old factories and warehouses and neo-industrial residential projects and made a skyscraper out of that motif, which is actually a nice nod to its location.

There's also a piece of the facade (I think) next to Kohn

Great update as always! This thing is tantalizingly close to street level. Between 15, 30, 35 and 55, in the next couple of months we're going to really start seeing the outline of the greater HY master plan taking shape.

Surprised that a crane isn't installed yet. This has been U/C for a while now.

I can't wait until the actual tower blocks that annoying teaser billboard!

And that's only the East part of it. There's going to be 6 more towers on the other side of 11th Ave.

It's easy to forget how important a nice clean subway station is.

My least favorite tower of the complex. Too mid century retro and just a box. Looks out of place next to the more innovative progressive towers. I miss world product centre.

I wish girosole would get built to overshadow this.

I sincerely hope the design for this tower changes before it gets built, because I feel it is the black sheep of the complex.

My favourite, for this reason precisely.

Totally disagree. This tower has more vitality than any other at the complex, and will have amazing interiors. And is not "mid-century retro" at all. It's a fantastic addition to the Hudson Yards area.
