Related to Start Work on Hudson Yards Platform in January (1)
http://www.businessweek.com/news/201...orm-in-january

New York | 1 Hudson Boulevard | 1 m sq ft | 47 fl | pro

- Primarily Office use building

Quote:
Among the two new projects added to the Hudson Yards plan is the redesign of the 47-story tower at 1 Hudson Boulevard, which would be primarily an office building for law firms, Cross said. The site, north of the yards between West 33rd and 34th streets, was purchased earlier this year from Gary Barnett’s Extell Development Co

Is this the possible McDonalds Site?

New York | 2 Hudson Boulevard | 62 fl | pro

Quote:
On the opposite side of Hudson Boulevard, Related plans to build a 62-story skyscraper on the site of Coach’s current headquarters at 504-522 West 34th St. The company needs to acquire adjacent parcels before starting that building.

The two sites straddle a park being built by the city that will split the block between 10th and 11th avenues in two. Hudson Boulevard will become “the Park Avenue of the West Side,” Cross said
Projected completion date for the Entire Eastern Half of the HY Development, including the Boulevard Portion.

Quote:
The eastern half of the Hudson Yards development, totaling 10 million square feet, probably will be completed by 2018

That's interesting. They clearly have a law firm in mind. Maybe White & Case.

Possible. they had been in the search for a while. For Ross to make a statement means they have something lined up and lose to securing to start this in 14'

I wonder what kind of height we are talking about with 1 m sf and 47 floors?

Ross said primarily an office building meaning that there could be some residential element which could make this a little higher.

So this will most likely not be 800 ft with this nice design it has already? Bummer.

Whatever One Hudson Yards turns into it will have a foundation & overbuild subway vent building waiting to be built on.

AND the subway station entrance in Hudson Blvd Park next door will be active. And maybe the one (two?) block long Hudson Blvd will be open.

The Equinox is only 1.1 million at 290 m. A huge chunk of One Hudson office space just went to the Mcdonalds site. This should be very similar to the Equinox tower and the Girasole. A base of office with as much residential on top as they can. There are plenty of office towers around why would they just build a smaller version of One Hudson Yards? Residential is too hot.

Edit: Then again 47 floors is worrying. Not that 62 across the street makes sense. Both are low.

47 floors does not look like much. It would need a high crown or spire to be tall then.

This site was never expected to be that tall.

Here's a new image of Girasole, which will rise just north of 1 HB.

You may be thinking of the MCD's and Sherwood sites.

Are you an architect or with a construction firm? Do you have details? I assume that it will be designed by KPF. Can you confirm?

Related clearly has a commitment from a major lawfirm (probably W&C but maybe Milbank or JD). Odds are, Related also has a tenant for MC D. Steve Ross has kicked the s.h.it. out of the clowns at Brookfield, Silverstein, and Durst.

Can't wait to see what they have in store for this tower! Very intrigued.

I'm sure the architect is going to be KPF. Ross would want continuity from the phase 1 project. I remember reading somewhere but to lazy to find the source, but read him saying that he considers the Hudson Blvd portion as the extension of the first phase project.

I will be happy if this reaches 800+ ft with 1 m sf! Since KPF did the design for Extel, it's not unfathomable they use the same design.

Shouldn't we change the title of this thread to 1 Hudson Blvd?
