Can't stand crooked towers. Sorry, just don't think this is worthy of NYC.

Really? I love these buildings, they're unique and unlike the hundreds of 30-50 story apartment blocks you see around the city.

They look like twin towers about to collapse. Not a good image in NYC.

I may be alone on this, but I don't feel strongly for or against this building. It doesn't seem particularly interesting or daring to me.
To me the Pyramid, 56 Leonard, Verre, and the Culture Tower are all more exciting than this.

I love the added blocks on top of both of the towers so that it keeps in context more with the other towers that have this

It's a pretty nice design and I'd like to see something like this around Hudson Yards except taller

JDS lines up $390M for East Side luxury towers

Quote:
Two luxury rental-apartment towers are coming to an East Side lot formerly owned by ConEdison.

JDS Development Group secured $390 million in financing last month from Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors LLC, a division of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. The developer is now continuing the construction of the two SHoP Architects-designed towers at 626 First Avenue.

“Basically, we want to build the highest-end rental the city has ever seen,” JDS managing partner Michael Stern told the Wall Street Journal. Rents in the 800 units are expected to be more than $80 per square foot.

Stern also told the Journal that the foundation for the towers is almost complete and that it’s almost time for vertical construction.
