Good one for Africa this building will turn out good if they cover the central collums with Black glass i think. And its very nice to see that they included Wind turbines. and the sky terrace will be amazing.

and the development as a whole with the other two towers looks very intresting

This will NOT happen! If we cant build supertalls in Sandton, JHB or Cape Town, why would we build one in Centurion??? Still, its an interesting proposal...

But someone feel free to prove me wrong!

Here's Centurion (marked with the red pin) in relation to Johannesburg (bottom left), Sandton and Pretoria (top middle):

The whole Gauteng will be a city by 2015 anyway. Might as well be proactive and construct the new CBD in a more central location such as Centurion.

It'd look good in Sandton as well, with the other talls planned for the area and all.

But the Joburg CBD does need it more!

The Gautrain has in effect created an environment where a hierarchy of nodes can be established. Urban Sprawl is the growing threat to cities and the worldwide call for urban compaction and densification is being advocated to create sustainability. Densification makes urban morphology more manageable and sustainable. What modern cities are attempting to create are centers of excellence while protecting natural resources and to design nodes with with nature in mind. The higher you build the smaller the foot print the larger natures foot print is. This type design in turn promotes walk-able environments that are more live able communities. When Cities or nodes become pedestrian accessible they flourish. Again the Gautrain has created that environment. People conglomerate in cities and or nodes that are connected to airports and regional centers by means of public transport and make these centers hubs for urban activity. Green axis is the main spine that support inhabitants during the day and the evening. These green axis improve transportation, amenities and livability for the inhabitants. When the location adheres to the above and is in the development corridor the development must be a success. Property development is about location, location, location and timing. by the time this development is occupy-able the world economy would have come out of the depressed state and companies that will occupy these towers ready to show the world there muscle. the towers are just one part of the development, there will be a Private Rapid Transport System to connect the surrounding areas to the project as well act as a support people movement facility to the connectivity of the Gautrain. The purpose of the project is to optimize the connect-ability of a regional people movement system that is connected to an international people movement system while simultaneously reducing the carbon footprint of the tenants and inhabitants. The promoters are learning allot from the developers of the TAIPEI 101 building to implement similar strategies to ensure the project is a success.

I can bet my last hundred dollar that this is just a pipe dream never to see light of the day. What with financial crisis creeping in left, right and centre. Dream was good though while it lasted .
