Good game last night, I thought Nigeria were able to hurt Spain with not much possession, it will be interesting to see if Italy have the confidence to try to attack Spain. I am looking forward to it.

Yes, but the trouble is, now all the referees will have seen that footage. Don't start complaining when he's fouled in the box and you don't get a penalty.

+1

It is the same for us in Spain, a player that cheats and gets away with it is called "clever", and then we go and complain that people don't pay taxes, that politicians get a percentage (on the side) of every construction project,etc... maybe we should start fighting corruption with the small things as well as the big: People not paying public transportation, a player diving,... I would be happy enough if the press would stop supporting such attitudes. One can only hope.

(and before any answers: No, I'm not comparing the damage of those actions, even though football moves billions nowadays, what I'm saying is that the underlying spirit is the same: It is fine to cheat on the rules, it is even good, as long as you are not caught, and that to me is repugnant)

Neymar didn't cheat, if you see the replays well you will see that the italian player put his leg in front of Neymar leg while he is running and pull Neymar's leg making him fall. It was not clear. Of course Neymar made some drama to make it look worse, but the referee was right.

About the spanish party, it seems Shakira was cheated.

Neymar is a world class diver, he would not last 5 minutes in England, I think the last time he was here, he was booed off the pitch for diving. I watched the game with my family, we all burst out laughing at his dive, it was not the first one in that game either...........

Google - "Messi dive" = 1m+ results, "Neymar dive" = 6m+ results!

I don't see the relation between Messi and the foul in the match between Brazil - Italy. We are discussing if it was foul or not. And if you check the replay you will see the italian player use his leg to trip Neymar. According to FIFA's regulation is foul for direct free kick "trips or attempts to trip an opponent" (Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct, page 33). In this case there is no cheating on this situation.

If he is a diver or not there is nothing to do with the discussion. Bringing Messi to this topic is the same as if we were debating - according to ethical aspect - about the permissiveness of United States keeping private information of people from all around the globe, and you brought the fact that your grandmother spies your neighbors with binoculars.

It shows (so does the excellent YouTube link) that there is no need to cheat/dive so regularly.

No way! I have seen it several times, all the defender does is raise his leg, there is NO CONTACT, once he puts it down Neymar takes the opportunity to cheat by making a unnatural leg movement, 100%, here it is, watch the replay from the second angle closely.

TBh I have no idea why you would try to defend cheating.

Neymar is just a weak player, poor guy.... he falls before contact because he is afraid of breaking his bones. He is not cheating.
Keep diving and safe, Neymar... and bring home the Cup... from the bottom of the deep ocean.

Neymar, the only player in the whole world who dives. all other players are 100% honest, clean, ethical, love whales, take good care of the environment and eat all their broccoli. I sincerely think he should be banned from the game for being such a naughty boy. just imagine the bad influence he can give to the other (immaculate) footballers.
