it looks like an uncomfortable alien with two mouths. somehow i wish this was a box. because toronto has one of the best box-skylines imo. it just was a nice ensemble. for the same reason i hate boxes in kuala lumpur. diversity is nice and all, but sometimes it just looks great when it all fits together.

Having the "best box-skyline" is like having the "best tooth ache", they're both a giant pain.

Disagree. A good box is as classic and timeless as an Armani suit. I'd rather have a few buildings like L Tower and 156 Front set against a sea of quality boxes, than the other extreme which just ends up looking like a jumbled mess.

I wonder how long that Citi bank 'tower' will remain as is. I like it, but it's starting to look like a prime site for re-development.

Nice building! BTW I am in Toronto and the city is gorgeous. Many elegant buildings that aren't flashy.

Welcome to Toronto. You should go to a bar to watch the 7 am hockey game. Half the city will be crammed into places like that in a few hours.

They are the best feature. Without them it's still nice, but these details bump it up a notch. That said, we'll likely lose it so the building can look as anodyne as possible.

The cutouts are the best part, reminds me of that Pearl tower in Guangzhou.

LOL @ the mouths. I actually quite like them. No doubt if they are part of the final design it will be a fun in joke among Torontonians...."the mouth building" or something. But I do like the tower in general. Nice addition to the Union Station locale.

According to I42 at UT, "new documents have been submitted to apply for a new Site Plan Approval."

New renderings.

Before and after;
the height was not reduced - the original rendering depicted a 56 storey tower and there were no other renderings released after it went through the initial height reduction (from 54 st to 46st) - the project is still at 240m, 46 storeys.
The height is now at
