That's 335 Madison Avenue and there's currently no plans to do anything with it.

actually the owner hired SHoP to renovate it, mostly the base floors and interor. This is good news for 1 Vanderbilt's tenants and observatory, as a new tower would have likely blocked a good chunk of the northern view.

Howard Milstein wants to reimagine the office building

Obviously a renovation suits his bottom line better. I doubt aesthetics alone would be enough to make him demolish the tower.

Ah, thank you. I think it's always better to renovate a building rather than tearing it down.

Now if You were talking about the Verizon building.....

I have little doubt it'll be the most documented construction in NYC since 1 WTC.

I think a SHoP renovation is much better!

6 floors something else in this building

I speculate there are 58 occupied floors in this building. The rest is likely mechanical space and the crown. Looks like some floors will have 15'+ heights.

Right...

Not sure why you're here instead of just googling skyscraper related news then....? Do you know the "search" tool?

The pace of skeleton construction has increased markedly over the past week. Apologies that it's hard to see in the photo but you can make it out.

Side note: the name of the thread seems off to me. The official name is simply One Vanderbilt and the address is 1 Vanderbilt Avenue. I know that "place" had been added in previous iterations but isn't part of it anymore.

Yes and there's no demand for it anyway. Air rights, zoning and FAA regulations would all prohibit it, as would property market conditions.
