Itīs amusing to see people complaining and raging over an unfinished design. *grabs popcorn and enjoys the show*

And so what that people are complaining about one stupid drawing? World won't end just because of that... hopefully

It's really amusing how people panic every time NY project is criticized. I for one hope that MAYBE some architects visiting this forum come to some constructive conclusion because of this thread and final product will be much better

I also don't think that's the most accurate model...

SL Green's investor presentation is online on its website. This "rendering" is one page out of 317 in the presentation. I highly doubt that this is what will be built.

I too would hope for a better design than this one, but this would be satisfactory in my opinion.

Off topic: By the way, Robert, there was a question about you on Jeopardy last night.

Did it relate to the fact that I happen to share the share name as the first British PM?

It will likely be a different design and taller than we anticipate. Think positively.

You're welcome, Kanto. I hope that all of the pre-WWII buildings on this list are preserved.

It could be quite a while until we hear concrete news on this project regarding a render or start date, so I thought I'd share these photos I came across yesterday of the huge project taking place underneath Grand Central. It's the East Side Access project.

From the MTA website:

The East Side Access project will connect the Long Island Rail Road's (LIRR) Main and Port Washington lines in Queens to a new LIRR terminal beneath Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. The new connection will increase the LIRR's capacity into Manhattan, and dramatically shorten travel time for Long Island and eastern Queens commuters traveling to the east side of Manhattan.

Bayne's new empire, perhaps?

The lack of updates here is killing me. Thanks though, McSky.

I know. Figured I would share something that will directly impact people working in the 1 Vanderbilt tower. As this supertall will rely on re-zoning, it might be a while before we hear anything exciting. But we will hopefully see another render sometime this year.

EDIT: updated the post above with a map and diagram.
