The spire is not but the top of the crown is. The NYT posted a graphic the other day that showed it.

That's awesome! That makes me very happy.

I would have wanted taller but 1,200ft to the crown is good enough for me here.

despite all these guys that hated Bloomberg, I dare to say that he was an outstanding mayor and I only wish De Blasio rise to the same level.

Yeah, 1,200 feet to the crown is not bad at all! Looks like Koops65 will have to go back to the drawing board for us over at SSP. Can't wait to see more diagrams posted.

Looks in the low 100s by that diagram. Chrysler's is 121' for reference.

New York will be the King of towers in the 400m range:

1. 217W57th: 434m (or 472m max.)
2. 432 PA: 426m
3. 1WTC: 417m (541m)
4. 111W57th: 412m
5. 2WTC: 411m
6. HY North: 408m
7. 1 Vanderbilt: 406m
8. Shvo Tower: 400m+
(ESB: 449m)

based on that diagram with the Chrysler Building, I predict 1 Vanderbilt will be ~1270' /387m

Crains' editorials are meaningless opinion, just like the rants in the NY Post real estate columns.

I calculated the height by matching the Chrylser building to 319m on the ssp diagram and saw how many pixels 1 Vanderbilt was and then sorted it out from there (a bit compressed):

Roof height ~367m
Spire ~397m

I did not realize how skinny 1 Vandy will be. I knew it will be thin, but 432 looks like a behemoth next to it.

One is from the diagonal the other the side. I'm happy to see a thin office tower, too many fat ones already in place.

We've come to learn that 1.6m sf is the height with the zoning bonus added. Thus, a 1,200' tower would have to be relatively thin to be that tall. Also, the tower tapers as it rises.

It seems that SL Green will seeks hedge funds, PE firms, and lawfirms that don't need big floor plates.

The SSP model of 432 Park makes the building look much more voluminous than it really is due to the edge-centered view, which shows two sides at once. For instance, 217 W 57th will have 2.22 times as much square footage, and yet they look fairly equal in the diagram, aside from the bottom of 217 W 57. One57 will have 1.47 times the square footage of 432 Park, which you'd probably not guess from looking at the diagram. And 1 Vanderbilt would have 3 times as much square footage as 432 Park, although it will need a favorable zoning change to be built at that size.

yes i also do prefer the other diagrams of 432 Park that do not feature such a forced perspective which makes it look bigger than it actually is

How much space will it have without the rezoning? The 1.2M from the first post in this thread?
