That facade is reeeally nice too! What's the materials used for it?
It's also good to see a great tall glass office tower with lovely textures

I agree. The fašade is interesting. Hopefully for me though they can modify the top a bit. Regardless either way, This will be an amazing addition to Midtown.

Looking again at the base render, the facade is made up of many individual panels which concave inwards, looks sort of like terracotta, perhaps might have some copper as well?

I agree, the crown area looks a bit off from that angle, but I can imagine that seeing the overall tower and from other view points, the final top section will appear much longer; as in that render it looks a bit squat and doesn't work well with the rest of the proportions

But the more I look at it, the better it looks!

I really like the building, I just wish the stretched out the top a little. It would make it a bit less awkward.

The tower's a bit clunky but it looks waaaay better than that 9 year old child's drawing we've been stuck with for a year.

It looks fine.

It will be a good addition but nothing worth writing home about. I do like the plant wall in the tower's base, though.

Yeah, the Wilshire Grand is primarily a hotel. SF has scintillating amounts of demand for offices, but those tech companies are rarely looking for traditional high rise office space and floor plates, preferring low and mid-rise sprawl that can closer mimic traditional Silicon Valley campuses. Coupled with the super-NIMBY culture and the cost of earthquake resistant buildings, SF will probably never be a supertall capital like New York.

So is this going to be TD Bank's US HQ building?

Salesforce tower is 970' to the roof with an enclosed crown, it will have a main mass about as big as ESB.

Get cho' facts right Robert

The fact that it's taller than the global HQ building might raise a few eye brows. In all fairness though, the global HQ is a complex of buildings rather than 1 big one. 1 Vanderbilt does look great though. So this is 326m with a 40m spire on top?

Like Bay-Adelaide Centre West in Toronto.

I like that. It gives a more diversified streetview and some of these old fašades are definitely worth preserving.

In any event, Transbay is a not very tall, roughly 950' tower, with an awkward, unoccupied crown perched upon it. No offense to San Fran. It's my third favorite American city after NY and Boston.
That phrasing was a little too obvious.

366m + 40m spire = 406m, 406m > 400m, no?
