That seems like an unusually expensive line: ~800 million USD for 16.5 km. How many stations will it have?

3 stations. It's about the same price of Chinese underground subway but more expensive than elevated metro.

The latest news says it will cost 3.5 bln yuan, construction starts in May 2014.

How are the Changsha South and Changsha Railway Station subway stations located within the railway station? Specifically, how much time should be reserved to navigate the station from the arrival of the subway train before the departure time of the train?

Great looking system. I'm curious about the 100km/h Maglev airport line, why go with maglev for such a slow train? Experimental?

  1. Low maintenance cost;
  2. Locally developed systems (by CSR Zhuzhou near Changsha);
  3. "We have a Maglev, yeah!"

Here's the airport Maglev map. There are 3 stations (not including 1 reserved) covering 18km (at this distance it doesn't make much difference whether it's a low speed or high speed Maglev).

The airport Maglev connects Changsha airport to new HSR South Station. It also links with metro Line 2/4 at South Station.

Links. It can only link, because of incompatible systems.

Are there any plans to build actual metro to Changsha airport?
