Wiesbaden (May 2012)
I visited the city of Wiesbaden last month. Wiesbaden has 276,000 inhabitants and is the capital of the German state of Hesse.
Of course I took some photos with my not so professional camera. I visited Wiesbaden in april. Nice, green spa-town with a stunning church. But it seemed a bit dead and even boring to me. Or maybe I was at the wrong time on the wrong place? Anyway, I loverd neighbor Mainz more.

Wiesbaden really is a nice place...it is one of a few cities in Germany with more than 100,000 inhabitants that has not been totally destroyed in WWII. Therefore Wiesbaden really doesn't look like the average German big city. @Benonie: I really can't confirm your utterance. When I was in Wiesbaden many people were on the streets and in the parks, even it was a normal workday. It's a lovely church; I am a fan of brick gothic.
The building that says "Ihre Wiesbadener Volksbank" looks like a train station (!). Is it a station or a bank? If it's a station it seems a strange kind of advertising; if it's a bank it seems like a strange building for a bank! In any case, beautiful photos, beautiful city. |

 it's the central station http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiesbaden_Central_Station and yes "wiesbadener volksbank" is the local bank, who is advertising this way. this kind of advertising is normal here. |

you can see within this pictures that wiesbaend was comaprted to other german cities only little damaged in ww2.
