But if you plan your travel Months in advance, 5J is the way to go.
LCCs follow a business model where if you decide to standby with them, you must pay full fare. Southwest Airlines in the U.S. introduced that model. If you want to pay a cheaper standby fare, your best bet is with PAL.

No problem with LCCs in North America Sky Harbor, we can always use our VISA!only the rich Filipinos can pay off that price tag for the last few seats, the rest would just have to be fast on the promos!and thats the only way every "Juan" can fly!

Cebu Pacific now RP’s largest airline in terms of passenger flown in Q1

By EMMIE V. ABADILLAJune 8, 2010, 4:19pm

Cebu Pacific (CEB) can now claim to be the Philippines largest airline by total number of passengers flown on domestic and international routes, based on Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) data.

CEB flew 2,448,990 domestic and international passengers from January to March this year, almost 110,000 more than Philippine Airlines system-wide figures of 2,339,788, according to the CAB.

CEB claimed the No. 1 position in the domestic market last year when it captured 50% of the domestic market share. It remains the number one carrier in 2010, with 51% market share. It started operations only in 1996.

“We expect to grow even more in the coming years as we take delivery of more brand-new planes which we will use to expand our capacity, increase frequencies, and fly to more local and foreign destinations,” announced CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

“Our consistent focus and commitment to offering the lowest fares for value service continue to pay off,” she added.

CEB is buying 22 more 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft for delivery starting in October this year till 2014, which by then would make the airline’s Airbus fleet the largest in the country as well.

The airline currently operates the youngest aircraft fleet in the country, composed of 21 Airbus and 8 ATR 72-500 aircraft.

“Our expansion will drive our costs lower, benefiting the flying public with CEB’s trademark low fares,” according to the VP.

Last year, CEB flew 8.8 million domestic and international passengers, with a 31% year-on-year growth. This year, it expects the number to rise to 10 million. By 2013, CEB expects to carry a total of 15 million passengers, exceeding the capacity of the NAIA Terminal 3, its home base.

From the last quarter of 2010 onwards, CEB expects to strengthen its network of 33 domestic and 15 international destinations with more routes and increased frequencies. It just recently announced its newest Brunei route, slated to start this August 21.

“We have driven down the cost of flying to allow more people to fly,” Iyog pointed out. “In every new destination we fly to, we always offer the lowest fares, forcing other airlines to match our travel product. With every new route, we promote travel, trade and tourism at the same time."

Cebu Pacific will be flying 5x weekly to Pagadian from Manila starting October or November. Can't remember the date and days of service, but the Wednesday service will be suspended. The flight will also be earlier. Will check again tom... (based on the winter schedule released this morning)......... congrats...

wow! good news indeed, I guess the saw the big demand right away from the start.normally it would take few months before they decide whether the loads would warrant additional flights or not, this decision just happened a day after they started, or maybe this was the original plan but they were just finding aircraft to deploy!

CEB begins Manila-Pagadian route today

The number one airline in the Philippines, Cebu Pacific (CEB) launches its maiden flight from Manila to Pagadian today. It first flew to the airline’s 33rd destination last May 27, 2010 when it began flights from Cebu.

This route from Manila is a Monday, Wednesday, Friday service, using CEB’s Airbus A319 aircraft. The lowest possible year-round ‘Go Lite’ fare for this route is P1,988.

The flight leaves Manila at 11:35am, and arrives in Pagadian at 1:10pm. The return flight departs Pagadian at 1:40pm and arrives in Manila at 3:15pm.

With this flight schedule, Pagadian residents can connect to Bangkok, Brunei, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Shanghai, Singapore and Taipei.

“We are very happy with the new Cebu Pacific service connecting Manila and Pagadian, on top of its existing Cebu-Pagadian flights. This will definitely give easy access to investors and tourists who wish to visit the area,” said Hon. Samuel Co, mayor of the City of Pagadian.

He added that tourist attractions were being developed such as the Kendis Caves and the Manga Serenity Park, a virgin forest three minutes from the airport.

“We believe that Cebu Pacific fares are very affordable and comparable to boat fares. The entire city and city council will be at the airport today to welcome the first passengers from Manila,” he added.

For more information on flights to Pagadian, passengers can call (02) 7020-888 or (032) 230-8888 or go to www.cebupacificair.com or funtours.cebupacificair.com. Those without credit cards can still book online and pay via CEB partner banks.

One of Asia’s fastest growing airlines, CEB flies to 33 domestic and 15 international destinations using the youngest aircraft fleet in the country. Aside from Pagadian, CEB flies to the following Mindanao destinations direct from Manila and Cebu: Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Dipolog, Ozamiz, Zamboanga, Cotabato, General Santos and Davao.

Jeff pati OZC, MIS. OCC Thread ay closed na rin,..

@litigs: "legal docs" of pagadian airport are still minimum at its capacity, like 5j bookings is until 150 wherein the capacity of the 5J A319 is 156. i think they are finalizing the said docs..
