The first steel-framed construction I've seen in NK. Hopefully it will look as good as the design for the Wonsan airport, by the same chosen architect:

It will be a nice upgrade for the airport, especially increasing North Korea's image for tourists. It will give a new and futuristic impression to people, instead of the old terminal that looks like it is from the 1960s. A good investment indeed.

Looking through the thread it doesn't seem like they use rebar for any of the buildings, even the tallest ones; just plain concrete. That has to be quite unsafe for long term structural integrity and even more so if the region is prone to earthquakes.

They use rebar. What makes you think otherwise?

For example:

This report about the construction of the tallest building (Ryugyong) describes the rebar used in detail:

Sorry I didn't clarify, I was observing the construction pics of the apartments. It's a given that they would have at least used rebar for the Ryugyong, otherwise it would have collapsed long before they topped it out.

It's 47 storey building with such a nice shape. One of the interesting part is they use solar panel for the street lights

Wow, I didn't realize it had curves!

Hopefully they will build one with a glass facade sometime soon. One isn't enough.

Anyone have photos of the building that collapsed and killed 500 slaves?

Not unless they work for the NK government. The internet is completely censored and western sites are basically unreachable for the average NK citizen.
