I can see a slight connection to the AGO in Toronto, but really, this is so much better.

It's like a modern day Sydney Opera House. Pity they didn't build it in a better geographic location, by the Seine for an example.

The geographic location is not so bad. Look at here, from Eiffel Tower!

I like the location in the woods. It should have beautiful surroundings and provide a great retreat from the noise and action of the city.

They should have built the Philharmonie de Paris at that spot , at least it will look like a space ship have landed in Paris which is more futuristic ...like some else had said it's look like a mess or a cracked egg to me ...but what does it matter since I don't live there ?...I just find Paris is awesome with its beautiful architecture from the past so I have to say something here !

Amazing, this is the first time I see a building which actually looks alive and about to morph into something else. Hat off to Gerhi.

One of the problems with genius is that those who have such gifts, too seldom work with anyone that can say "no." This is my only criticism of this building.

However, in Paris, such things cause barely a ruffle, as the city is magnificent. Put such a building in other cities? Nah, wouldn't work.

Why would you possibly want to say "no" to this building? I would take it for Toronto every day of the week.

Why does it have layers on top of each other ? what purpose does it serve ? or just to make it looked '' different''?

Recognized geniuses often become surrounded by those who applaud, rather than those that criticize. I doubt if anyone in his studio dares to speak out.

In addition, particularly in architecture, those who commission works very often are herd animals that pick out architects for status purposes, and, by so doing loose their ability to say "this proposal stinks." Instead, whatever is built is some kind of a work of art that the viewer must become "educated" in order to "understand" why the work of art is great.

Frank Gehry has produced far better works than this, as well as many that are worse.

But, IMO, his best are among the best works of the late 20th and early 21st centuries (I am a huge fan of his 8 Spruce Street, NYC, his Guggenheim Museum in Bilboa, Spain, and his Walk Disney Concert Hall, LA, USA).
