Frank Gehry has produced far better works than this, as well as many that are worse.

But, IMO, his best are among the best works of the late 20th and early 21st centuries (I am a huge fan of his 8 Spruce Street, NYC, his Guggenheim Museum in Bilboa, Spain, and his Walk Disney Concert Hall, LA, USA).
Thank for the reply.
Now can you explain what you dont like aestethically in this project? I ask you this because you seem the only here that criticize this project th e others write endless accolades .I am interest in your different point of view.
thanks

Disagree with you - this building looks exceptional IMO. My favorite unbuilt Gehry design is his rejected proposal for the NY Times tower in NYC. The skin of the Louis Vouitton looks very much akin the skin of NYT proprosal:

I tried researching the opening date for the project, but I get nothing other than "2014"... any of you have any idea what month or day this is expected to open?

I'll be sure to visit there.

Same here. I'd love to see it finished when I'm in Paris this fall.

“French romances occupy a central position in the development of medieval European
literature. Their most popular subject matter by far was the Arthurian legend, which, though it
had its origins elsewhere, was first cast in romance form in France: the Round Table, the
tragic love story of Lancelot and Guinevere, and the notion of the Grail quest were all French
innovations."

The cladding looks quite a bit darker on a grey day. I guess that's the way it is with glass.

Amazing indeed! Is there any greater clarity regarding what kinds of exhibits will be inside the building when it opens?

Without doubts... spectacular! But I cannot consider as stetic the fasteners of steel beams to the curved walls. It seems to be temporary but they are not.
