Istanbul

Istanbul located in the northern-west part of Turkey. It is the only city in the World which connects two different continents ( Asia and Europe ). Istanbul lies on 2 continents where the 1/3 of Population lives in the Asian side and 2/3 lives in the more commercial and touristic European side.

The European and Asian Sides are separated via bosphorus strait which also known as Istanbul strait. Istanbul strait connects the Black sea with Marmara sea. The Transportation between two continents are made with two available bridges; Bosphorus bridge, Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridge and frequent ferry shuttles.

Istanbul is truly a world city, a city which everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. It is an enchanting blend of Eastern and Western culture, a vibrant, modern city, with a unique identity. Its rich past coexists alongside its youthful exuberance. Although no longer the capital of Turkey, Istanbul still remains the country's cultural and business centre.

Bursa

Bursa province, located in the Marmara region. It is the fourth most populous city in Turkey and one of the most industrialized metropolitan centers in the country.

Bursa was the capital of the Ottoman State between 1326 and 1365. The city was referred to as "Hüdavendigar" (meaning "God's Gift") during the Ottoman period, while a more recent nickname is "Yesil Bursa" (meaning "Green Bursa") in reference to the parks and gardens located across its urban fabric, as well as to the vast and richly varied forests of the surrounding region. The ski resort of Mount Uludag towers over it.

Iskender kebab is one of the most famous meat foods of northwestern Turkey and takes its name from its inventor, Iskender Efendi, who lived in Bursa in the late 19th century

Antalya

Antalya is a city on the Mediterranean coast of southwestern Turkey. Antalya is a picturesque city surrounded by mountains, forests, Mediterranean Sea and many ancient ruins. Thanks to its airport, Antalya is a gateway for Turkey's coastal resorts which have become known as ‘Turkish Riviera’ because of the natural and historical beauty.

Combining history and culture it deserves the title of ’capital of Turkish tourism’. Today the city of Antalya is reliving a golden age. It has been transformed into a cultural and touristic hub with hotels featuring concepts such as ‘Venice’, ‘Topkapı Palace’ and Moscow cathedrals. Kaleici, the rustic old town where historic Turkish and Greek houses are under protection, is the most popular center in Antalya. It is situated between the yacht harbour and the main city. Old houses separated by narrow, cobble-stone roads are now hotels and tourism-related shops. Traces of Byzantine, Roman and Seljuks architecture and culture can still be seen. Antalya museums house finds belonging from historic ages of Anatolia.

In the city, Ottoman architecture can be seen in places such as Yivli Minare, Kulliye and Karaalioglu Park. Konyaalti and Lara coasts are well known for their crystal clear waters. Famous sites accessible by daily tours are Side, Perga, Manavgat and Alanya. Ancient cities such as Phaselis, Olympos, Adrasan and Kekova can be reached by sea with Blue Voyagers.

Kayseri

West of Cappadocia, over the mountains in central Anatolia, lies Kayseri, known as Caesarea in Roman times. The city spreads out at the foot of the extinct volcano Mt. Erciyes (3,916 meters). In the winter months the ski center has excellent runs for downhill skiers, and several pleasant hotels cater particularly to skiers.

Kayseri has been one of the most important trade centre in Anatolia over the history. Located in the right centre of the country, it has the feel of a modern, busy city but also has a strong traditional and religious atmosphere. The city is also well known for its textile and carpet industry, and has impressive monuments that reflect its history.

Kayseri is also famous with its Manti (Turkish dumpling - pronounced mahn-tuh) and Pastrami (very old Turkish dish made by beef).

Trabzon

Trabzon is one of the major cities of Turkey and the biggest one in the Eastern Black Sea region. Its population is 757,353 (2012) and has an area of 4,664 km2. Due to rainy climate even in the summer months, it has lots of green forests and mountains with many rivers and highlands. There are major roads connecting Trabzon to other cities, and a big harbor for international shipping traffic in the Black Sea and an international airport.

Trabzon, located on the historical Silk Road, became a melting pot of religions, languages and culture for centuries and a trade gateway to Iran in the southeast and the Caucasus to the northeast.

Trabzon's regional cuisine is traditionally reliant on fish, especially hamsi (fresh European Anchovy similar to the British Sprat or American Smelt). Trabzon meets 20% of the total fish production in Turkey. Regional dishes include the Akçaabat köfte (spicy lamb meatball from the Akçaabat district) and Karadeniz pidesi (canoe shaped pita bread, often filled with ground beef, cheese and eggs).

Rize

Rize is one of the smallest provinces of Turkey on the Black Sea coast but also one of the most important since it is the tea-industry center with processing and packing factories. The city is built in an area where the bright green tea bushes cover entire mountainsides. From Ziraat Park in the city you will have a panoramic view of the area and be able to capture that unique beauty.

You may have the opportunity, to have the best blend of tea, at the Summer Tea Festival, and taste the very famous, rarely found Anzer honey which comes from the mountains around.

The beautiful little town of Camlihemsin is a perfect starting point for a trekking tour in the Kackar Mountains.
