Strip malls that actually look good

Strip malls tend to look like piles of modern garbage. Many of them are made cheaply and to bot last 50 years. But on the other hand, here in Richmond, I have seen some cool looking strip malls such as the ones in the link below(IDK how 2 post photos)

That is perhaps the best strip mall I've ever seen and I still wouldn't prefer it most streetfront retail .

strip malls have elevators?

my idea of a strip mall (no elevators) is park your car & walk right up to the door... typically a single story complex like those in canada or us

Pendeford Shopping Centre
Pendeford, Wolverhampton, UK

http://goo.gl/maps/cKfQ

It's not big box, but I like it. Built in the 1980s and serves an 80s-90s housing estate. The supermarket was previously a Safeway (UK), former tennants include Preedy, Choices, Gimbles, and Sketchleys. Choices has now become Morrisons' newsagents', Gimbles is now Ellie Louise (one of the few in the country after they went into administration, this store does very well), Sketchleys is gone and replaced with Sally Hair and Beauty, and Preedy became Dillons which became Martin's.

Home and Motorsave is a respectable hardware store.

There is also a pub, the Pendulum.
