NY Meet pics - Part 1
Finally I beat Vice City so there's no more distractions on the comp for a month now (till I get Half Life 2). Time to make a thread of my pics. I took a shitload of pics during the meet - around 300, so obviously I am not gonna post all of them at one time. I am gonna do the select good ones from my first (and largest) folder, gonna go through half the folder and pick like 1 out of 3 from that half a folder. Anyway here you go:
Remember Dennis? ![]() A neat view up the American Express tower from the WFC ![]() Aight, here's the palms of the WFC Winter Garden. The people are supposed to be somewhere in the left corner. They aren't there yet tho... ![]() If they aren't by the new WTC exhibit, it means they aren't here at all. That's a given. ![]() Aight, Ima go outside then and take this neat pic of Am Express with the Winter Garden. ![]() WTF mate? ![]() The brothers ![]() I'm movin south. There's Hong Kong across the bay with its new 2 IFC prominently sticking out. ![]() A street in Battery park City a few blocks south of the Winter Garden. My fingers are getting pretty cold ![]() And there's 2 WFC. My fingers are so cold its beginning to be hard to press on the camera button. ![]() As an Emporis dude it is my duty to photograph every building in the darn city and fulfill our mission statement. Okay whatever I just want to have more of my photos on that site. And Gateway Plaza is not covered. So I went out and got a dozen shots, with the security looking suspiciously at me. ![]() By this time my fingers were getting so cold I was ready to stick them up my ass just to keep them warm, and the time was nearing 10 so I moved back to the Garden. Barclay Vesey looked badass on that day. ![]() I know that in tye previous picture you all were probably trying to take a peek (Ace was prolly thinking of a leak instead) of the Seven. Lemme make life easier for you. ![]() The new guy wants to show who's the boss in the hood. Just like Tommy Vercetti. (Man, I gotta lay off that Vice City!) ![]() Shit, its a new building but it already got a ghost. ![]() Then I saw the kid in the beige jacked and later the whole group (and I thought phxmania was from Sweden like Swede... cause... well... i had no idea he was phxmania). Right after we said hi to each other we went back right to our old stuff. What else can you expect from people like us? In this issue, watch the Severe Swede take on the Awesome Ace and see who wins in the match (and gets the less blurry picture). Btw who got the better one? ![]() Shit, I'm getting pretty damn tired making this thread. And I'm only about halfway done. Moving east towards the Ground Zero and Brooklyn. I'm pretty sure the triangular thing on the ground is where the FT cornerstone is. ![]() Then we went down in the pit ans shown the workers what they really need to build there. ![]() Okay, we wish... That guy almost looks photoshopped on. Too blurry, too well-centered, to out of context and even his running looks fake. Like someone tried to make a collage of the busy New York streets but failed miserably. ![]() Good news. 7 WTC actually looks tall. ![]() Gothic near the Trinity Church, where we warmed ourselves up. ![]() Looking up Wall Street. Around here I remember I was talkin to someone about the overuse of the US flag in the country (it's everywhere!). Finally, I can talk about that in English without being afraid that the person might give me in as a terrorist. ![]() Here we are, looking around the Stock Exchange, the first government building thing and, of course, the skyscrapers. ![]() Newring the East River side. I always liked this building but on that day it looked plain badass. ![]() Here we are looking around from the second level of Pier 17 mall. There's plenty of stuff to look at... ...like the Brooklyn Bridge (where we will later go)... ![]() ...and the trash. ![]() Friggin thread, I'm makin it for about an hour by now! So the Verizon Building is ugly, huh? (btw, if u look closely you can see the imprint of the old Bell Atlantic logo) ![]() Okay, whatever. If you don't like that here's your good old favorite cliche Woolworth: ![]() That's probably the shortest building u/c in Downtown at the moment ![]() Fake ass crackas, trying to lake it look all old and antique A rare but nice, Hong Kongish, view of the Downtown; the new Gehry Tower is supposed to go just to the left of the shot ![]() While everybody was snapping away at Woolworth I payed some tribute to its lil brother. Nobody ever gives him any respect just cause there's a better and taller building next to it. By the way I think Transportation Building is more proportional than Woolworth. ![]() Dennis turned giant and he had no choice but to pull an Ace (take a leak) on the city. Jacksom had no choice but to turn giant too and watch Dennis take a leak. ![]() And here we approach the Brooklyn Bridge. In the next episode watch us take the trip across the bridge into Brooklyn, eat some pizza and then go to Hong Kong across the Manhattan Bridge. GTA references, Dennis eating pizza, celebrity threats, and, of couse, more skyscrapers - stay tuned for the next episode! Dun-dun-DUN! Thank God this friggin thread is done. |

I want part 2!
After looking at this thread again, damn, that shot of the Winter Garden facing toward the WTC model exhibit is HOT. Look at the reflections. BTW, looks like you got to the Winter Garden real early that day. |

Yeah... a growing number of us natives have felt that way too. It's not just you damn foreign devils. ![]() Anyway, great photos!

Yum piccies. I had a doctor's appointment so was in a rather dull two-storey building for some of the time. I'm looking forward the part 2!
BTW the "fake ass crackas" building is not trying to look old - the unclad part will be covered in steel and glass. Architect is Richard Cook and his old firm. |
