When did the new terminal open for actual operations? I think this airport is among a handful of Chinese airports with no direct access to the host city's metro systems.

As I checked the masterplan for Changsha metro (lines 1-4), neither of the lines will connect the airport to the city...

I am not sure the first two pictures in this series is from the Changsha airport. They look so much like the Shanghai Pudong phase one terminal

Changsha is a city in Central China, one of the country's fastest-growing cities:

I think it's in the architectural design....

What you see in the pictures is the airport's T2. It has opened in July 19, 2011 with more than 212,000 sq. meters of space. The older terminal (T1) underwent massive renovation works recently, including runway expansion. It has only 33,000 square meters of space.

Shanghai Pudong is actually designed by the French airport operator/engineering, design and consultancy firm Aeroportes de Paris - the same designer behind the upcoming Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport T3 [Chongqing, China], Dubai International Airport T3 and Doha International Airport. This airport, however, is designed by B&H architects, a Canadian design firm and China Construction Group as contractor.

That is exactly the reason why I question the first two pictures in this series as I am pretty sure they are from Chongsha. The rest, however, are from Chongsha base on what I know.

Almost all Chinese airports are constructing expansions, huge pity we don't cover them.

When is the second runway in Changsha scheduled to open? Are there plans for additional terminal expansion on the other side of the new runway?
