This is tougher than I thought it would be. I have it down to Charlotte vs Atlanta vs Houston vs Miami. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these. In this case I will go with Miami, because it's the only one of the group (I think) that spent any amount of time as the actual tallest in its city. Very classy skyscraper.

I love Winston's.....it has such a dark, sleek look. WINSTON TOWER written across the top looks pretty cool as well.

Out of these choice, my second would have to be Duke.

Fun idea for a thread! The #2s hardly ever get any attention.

SunTrust in Atlanta is the clear winner for me. I especially like it at night with the beacon at the top.

Honorable mentions go to Duke Energy in Charlotte, Wachovia in Miami, and Regions in Birmingham. I have always disliked that Dallas building, don't care for the big "X" on the front or the three antennae on top.

I'm not impartial, but the Duke Energy Center is stunning. I sometimes think it may be sexier than BoA HQ. next Houston, then Miami, then Dallas.

Funny, I agree Portman's creation is the best among these nominations but I find that beacon to be absolutely heinous! Many at the GT architecture program at the time it opened called it the pimple! Portman should have kept the winter garden scheme for lighting the top blocks, IMO.

It's probably the finest example of "Lego Architecture" in the US!
