Toledo - USA

Here's the Toledo, Ohio skyline. The city has a population of 309,000, with a metro population of 650,000. It's in the Northwest corner of the state of Ohio.

Toledo has a very nice collection of buildings, I especially like the blue one there, and ironically, since Toledo is (or once was) the glass capital of the world. But those two industrial pipes there, kind of throws me off as far as the skyline is concerned, but I like the height and collection of buildings and it is a very good one for a city not mentioned too often. I will give it a 7/10.

I also think the building is there to preservation of Toledo's history, which is a good idea.

Nice pics, but Toledo is in the Northwest corner of Ohio...not the Northeast.

you know, really not that bad... I expected Toledo to be a decrepit post-industrial wreck like the rest of the area, but it hides it well. 7.5, for exceeding expectations

I visited Toledo recently. The downtown area was a deadzone, although my friend who lives there assured me that was very unusual. They have a very nice minor league stadium, although it's located in the midst of a bunch of run down warehouse districts, which the city oddly enough calls the "Historic Warehouse District", like it's somehow a tourist attraction. I suppose it could be, maybe a view of how The Midwest used to actually have an economy. The city needs to do a lot of work to revitalize the downtown. The area right downtown was quite nice, although not as dense as I would have liked. The SeaGate (big blue block) is a decent building, the skyline would suffer greatly without it, although it's architectually dull. To answer the question about the smoke stacks, it didn't appear to be in use. Overall, the downtown area is nice and clean, but it's a dump outside of there. The city needs to work on attracting business and tourism, and maybe build a few hotels. The best hotel there is a 3 star Hilton (That would not get 3 stars, in my opinion, although they were in the midst of an update during my stay) located on the grounds of the Ohio Medical College.

There are 313,000 in the city proper and 660,000 in the metro area.

The skyline seems just a tad small for the size of the city, and especially small for the size of the metro, but it's nice. There appears to be some nice lowrise density amid that handful of tall buildings, and that's always nice to find. 6.

A nice skyline, but lacks some true identity. I give it a 6.5/10.
