And fully deserved so! Even purely functional structures should be made with as much care and beauty as possible.

Hamburg is going totally bonkers. So many wonderful developments, world-class.
Even for me being someone who isn't too fond of minimalism at all, the Axel Springer Quartier looks absolutely gorgeous. Let's hope it'll be able to match renders in reality, at least sort of. I love the proportions there.

There is absolutely no end on this. Hamburg gets a lot of the good stuff while the rest of us are left with the frosted glass shoeboxes that is a -revolution in design.

I know they are everywhere but at least Hamburg takes the lead in introducing some really nice buildings and a real inner city. Visited Hamburg last weekend and I still get surprised, and then I have been there at least 10 times by now.

Regarding skyscrapers I suggest go south to Frankfurt. That city is just booming in it's cool way. Hamburg should just get on with this fantastic development.

Thanks for the update! I think Hamburg need some reel skyscrapers but 150m is disent for a start.

Here in Sweden (Gothenburg, Stockholm) we have proposals for skyscrapers around 250m and higher and we have no cities close to the size and dignity of Hamburg.

Even small cities in Sweden like Borås, Växjö, Jönköping etc have aproved buildings with 20-30 stories. Of course Germany have Frankfurt but why is big cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Munchen lagging with high buildings?

I hope I have time to visit Hamburg again the coming summer!
