The SOMISA building, an essential part of the International Style movement in Argentina, specially because of the triangular terrain where is placed, who made it have a quite unique design. For the construction, the architect used identical steel plates, a rarely-used material for the country (the most common material here is the reinforced concrete, even for skyscrapers).

Interesting how the facade remains exactly the same from the top to the base. You don't usually see that.

Looks good. The greenery goes well with the dark glass.

The house will probably be dismantled and relocated to Palm Springs, which has an amazing collection of early-mid century modern homes.

What's your opinion about the shape of this office building in Lisbon? Many people think it's a new building, whereas it has already several years. The cladding isn't metallic, but marble stone. It belongs to an insurance company.

Nick-Name: Harmonio (acordeon) building
Company: Liberty Seguros (Europeia Seguros in 1969)
Year: 1969 - (1971?)
Architects: António Gomez Egea + Ionel Schein

see on street view, google maps

There's a building in my city with a similar shape. The Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (IGUAT)

Is it just me or in the first picture does the stone (or concrete?) have an almost golden glow to it?
