I'd previously noted that there were works going on on this unit but I hadn't connect the two.
Also fortunately for Le Truc the existing premises are almost perfect for them already Zink bar and all, just a spruce up required. Will be good to see this unit occupied again |

Isn't Jimmy Spices expanding into that? Or my idea for the old Zinc bar is a Rum Runner bar and museum using the old neon and silver doors that the club based on Studio 54 in NYC. A proper music museum with old DuranDuran memorabilia and other bands that played there and at night became a live venue again.

Le Truc is going to the empty premises under the Ibis at the Arcadian. The bar top in the old Dome unit is made of zinc, as apposed to the former Zinc bar over looking Gas Street Basin which is indeed going to be an extension to Jimmy Spices. I like the idea of something to do with Duran Duran on the old Rum Runner site though

anyone know what's going on with the site that was 'The Jug of Ale'.. Construction board around it. Lights were on too. Moseley seems to still be quite vibrant and Kings Heath is on the up too.. Some good stuff at the mid to southern end but the north end is still a dive though.

Its going to be an Akbars indian restaurant. They have one on the Hagley Road (old Liberty's) and are a chain.. nice to see the building being used, but hope it doesnt have a negative effect on the many great independant curry houses in the area. |

I should think so.. No other businesses have changed their trading pattern.

Good News....Notices have gone up on the old "Fiddle and Bone" on Sheepcote Street regarding a new application for an Alcohol Licence.
Closing date 14th September for any support/objections..so anyone who knows of any NIMBY's in King Edwards apartments who managed to close this excellent venue 5 years ago, please tell them to get behind this application this time round and help bring this corner back to life. The exterior of the pub as remained amazingly intact despite being empty for 5 years, even the chalk board outside is still intact and with the same messages on it, must be ..RESPECT..anyway does anyone know who the applicant is?

Yep all open as usual, though you might have to fight through the crowds to get to the entrance...

![]() Is this yet another Take away?... can't say I'm a fan of this end of Broad Street at all.... off topic a bit, but the back of Hampton by Hilton is shocking! am I right in thinking you enter the parking for the hotel here via the opening which still says Cumberland House? ..can't imagine what visitors think arriving at the back or front of this hotel.

Thing is, the reviews for this hotel are excellent, I suppose unlike us, people don't care how the exterior looks, but the interior is on top!
