^Seriously, we need to provide a strong counterpoint to these yahoos who have been screwing over the region for decades with their serial myopia.

Yup, that paper creates 90% of the arguing around here. Tampa sucks, but it's where that stadium should be line is ridiculous.

I have no doubts this will be going forward. Looks like the updated version after talking to the city.
And there's that building I talked about Jason and Matt on the Tampa Bay Times site. Looks like a parking garage. Seems pointless they would add a model for that site yet not for any other site, including the former TWELVE site.

That's much better. I drove east across the Cass bridge going really slow and couldn't figure out where it was going to be. This latest link helps a lot.

I also noticed, it looks like the pedestrian walkway appears to be incorporated into this project as well. |

Just so we are all clear, the odd building under question in the rendering is in the current Tampa Bay Times surface parking lot, it is not a replacement for the Times building.
As for the sky bridge, it is hard to say if it is incorporated into the building or not. The link to the Library from Poe will likely remain (from the rendering), but the link to Staz could either be a full connection like exists now or a new bridge from the parking in the new building. Or the whole bridge as could be incorporated into the edge of the building.

Well, by Tampa standards it's tall (35 stories), which I like. But the design is just another reiteration of Skypoint/Element. Doesn't particularly excite me.

What is the building next to the tower and across from the Straz? Right now it's a parking lot I believe. Is that just for the render or is something else being developed there?

I think it's quite different. Element / Skypoint are almost all glass, this building is not. It does not appear to have an open-air parking garage like Element / Skypoint. It's a recycled design from the TWELVE hotel that was supposed to go up in DT.

Way different. Tower structure isn't the thin glass structure that we see from Skypoint and Element. And the base doesn't have the open air parking garage and the retail and entrance is pushed way back and will have covering since it's under the tower itself.
