That didn't happen today, but there seems to have been a major crash at Birmingham, Alabama, USA with a UPS Cargo A300 just within the last hour.

You're a couple of years off. That is from 2002.

This crash is related to a UPS cargo plane, most likely headed to Louisville.

Update:

We have breaking news out of East Birmingham this morning where a large plane has crashed near the Birmingham airport.

According to initial reports a UPS Cargo Plane has crashed near 19th Avenue North and North East Lake Boulevard in an open field that used to be a neighborhood. That field is now owned by the airport.

Alabama's 13 was on the scene and say the plane is still burning. The crew spoke to neighbors and they say the heard a large boom and then several other explosions. The media has been asked to move back due these explosions. There could be debris covering about half a mile.

Again Alabama's 13 has a crew on the scene and will bring you the latest as we receive more information.

Yes, in the U.S. and not in the U.K.

http://aviation-safety.net/database/...?id=20130814-0

It was the flight I linked earlier, UPS 1354 (reg. N155UP), an A300 coming in for a landing after a short flight from Louisville.

This is the Birmingham International Aiport thread for Birmingham, United Kingdom. Not the United States.

Terrible news though.

Yes, but he is actually right. This thread is for BHX in the U.K., not BHM in Alabama, U.S.

Stopping this thread?

With the much more frequently posting thread on BHX (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1334471) why isn't this thread amalgamated with it please? It seems unnecessary, and annoying when some content appears only on this site that could be posted easily to the other?

Or isn't it as simple as that?!

Kind regards.

Thanks for your post.

The reason why i started this Thread to complement the one on the Birmingham Thread is becouse this is more to do with photos and pictures of BHX, the other one is more information. People who are not "aviation" geeks like me, He he he he do not want to see pages and pages of pictures of aircarft and airports but are still interested in the growth of BHX and what it does for the economy of Birmingham, UK.
Hope this helps

Didn't you have to delete a load of your photos that you got from another site once ?
