The reason why i started this Thread to complement the one on the Birmingham Thread is becouse this is more to do with photos and pictures of BHX, the other one is more information. People who are not "aviation" geeks like me, He he he he do not want to see pages and pages of pictures of aircarft and airports but are still interested in the growth of BHX and what it does for the economy of Birmingham, UK.
Hope this helps
Thanks. I also share an interest in seeing and hearing of more detailed aspects of BHX since I always tried to use it in favour of Heathrow/Luton/STansted when I lived in Milton Keynes (appalling late night train service there from BHX which I frequently complained about) and now we live nearer so I'm even keener to follow developments. With this in mind I saw a comment on the pprune thread with a 'Wow' wrt the A45 pictures which I felt was disappointing since as you say, airports are not just aircraft but transport, business, the terminals, ATC etc. In this respect it would be very good to see more regular pictures of the A45 & runway works (nothing since opened on 12th yet there must be considerable work continuing and VF-PColas photos have dried up since (plus see BHX http://www.hellomoreworld.co.uk/ where it is months out of date!)

In short summary, you'd have a reader when posts are made here! It's just a pity that there are so many sites with different nuances wrt BHX.

re A45.
Apologies if this has been reported before. The A45 diversion around the runway extension site is now open in both directions,be it 1 lane only in each direction.Sorry unable to provide photos.I drove down the road this morning and to get into the airport and station it looks like you have to come off the A45 at the M42 turn-off and come back on to the A45 and into the airport from that direction.I am happy to be corrected on this though if anyone knows differently.
Also very happy with pax numbers. This could be one of the busiest summers ever @ BHX.

To any who might be interested.
Turkish Airlines and Aston Villa have now teamed up in a partner deal to further enhance THYs commitment to BHX and the local region.
I wonder if we will see an aircraft painted in the wonderful Claret and Blue?

Very nice. Do you know what type of aircraft Monarch will maintain at Birmingham? I assume its Airbus family of A320's and A321's...?

the new MAEL facility will incorporate industry-leading design and build standards and is the first UK hangar to have the capacity for Boeing 787 Dreamliner maintenance, with sufficient capacity for other wide body aircraft, such as Boeing 777, 747 and Airbus A350. The facility will be large enough to accommodate two Boeing 777-300ER aircraft or 10 narrow-body aircraft

The recruitment process started recently so it seems these are the types they expect to see initially.

A register of stores at Birmingham International aerodrome can be seen in the attached link, but doesn't encompass a MAC, I'm afraid.
Thank you dear for information

Air Blue departed at 00.05 on Sunday 29/09/2013.

This was the first scheduled A340 aircraft to operate from BHX.

BHX is starting to look like a proper International airport at last, let the role continue.

Agreed Brum X.Although the lack of announcements for spring/summer 2014 is becoming a concern.
With the runway extension now a matter of months away from completion the lack of new services is a tad worrying.
Still,as long as the pax numbers remain high you never know what might happen.
