Could it be Norwegian or Thomas Cook?

So one that does not fly out of Manchester... there are some choices like jetBlue (as one already mentioned) or some other carrier we have no clue about (like Jet2).

Could it be WOW Air from Iceland? JetBlue has quite a lot of A321s right now (43), many of them are branded as Mint with lie flat seats in First and Business Class, and some of them having just Economy Plus and Economy (regular configuration). It will also receive 23 more of the A321s, and it has ordered 60 A321NEOs to complement the A321CEO.

Primera Air today (20JUL17) announced new service launch to the US in 2018, with its new Airbus A321neo aircraft, intensifying low-fare carrier’s competition on Trans-Atlantic routes. From Europe, the airline will operate service from Birmingham, London Stansted and Paris CDG, while points in the US include Boston and Newark initially. Configuration of the A321neo is C16Y182.

Planned operation as follow.

Birmingham – Boston eff 22JUN18 4 weekly
PF053 BHX1715 – 2015BOS 32B x246
PF054 BOS2145 – 0930+1BHX 32B x246

Birmingham – Newark eff 18MAY18 1 daily
PF051 BHX1745 – 2100EWR 32B D
PF052 EWR2230 – 1030+1BHX 32B D

Primera is the new Norweigan in the making, you watch them go in the next 10 years.

It's great that their schedules depart and arrive nearly at the same time as each other. Better yet, the evening departures from the US and mid-morning arrivals in BHX would lessen the stress for both business and leisure travelers, making the experience worthwhile. I wanna see the cabin interiors and features though to see what Primera has to offer... with a J16 Y182, I am looking at:

- Recliner seats on J (2-2)
- Standard seats on Y (3-3)

July passenger numbers 2017

Passenger figures for July show that Birmingham Airport has seen its busiest month on record.

Over 1.4 million people travelled through the terminal – giving a 17.6% growth rate year on year.

In total 1,437,528 passengers flew through Birmingham – over 215,000 more than the same month in 2016.
Short haul traffic saw the most significant rate of growth with an increase of 19.3% year on year whereas long haul services saw a 3.3% increase.

Jo Lloyd, Commercial Director at Birmingham Airport, said: “Every month we are seeing significant passenger growth and July is no exception being in the peak of the school summer holiday season.

“This has given us our twenty ninth consecutive month of record breaking growth and our forth million passenger month this year.”

Scheduled traffic accounted for 89 per cent of the total, with charter passengers making up the remaining eleven per cent.

Scheduled traffic overall grew by 20.5 per cent, with significant year-on-year growth to Sofia (+225.8%), Ibiza (+132.3%), Rhodes (+112.3%), Paphos (+81%), Bucharest (+74.1%) and Faro (+72%).

Charter traffic saw expansion on services to Montego Bay (+298.6%), Punta Cana (+79.9%), Malaga (+75.5%) and Antalya (+53.7%).

Birmingham Airport hits 13 million milestone

New routes have helped Birmingham Airport to hit the 13 million passenger milestone.

Following 30 months of consecutive monthly passenger growth, Birmingham Airport smashed through the 13 million passenger mark yesterday (23 September 2017) for the first time ever in a rolling 12 months, the airport has revealed at World Routes 2017.

As well as new airlines launching from the airport including British Airways and Jet2, existing carriers have recently added new routes and added extra capacity through the Midlands airport. This, together with the success of the Midlands region and Birmingham – the UK’s second city – have helped the airport achieve these impressive passenger records.

David Winstanley, Birmingham Airport’s chief operating officer, said: “It has been an immensely busy year and we have smashed all records, with 18 percent year-on-year passenger growth.

“This growth has surpassed our expectations and, although we are proud to be able to offer more services for our passengers, we acknowledge that we’ve had some growing pains over the summer.

“We’re now focused on the best in class service delivery for our airlines and customers next summer, when we will welcome new transatlantic flights with Primera Air to Boston and New York as well as new routes with our existing carriers.”

More than £450m will have been invested in Birmingham's facilities by the end of 2017, with recent developments including self-service bag drop desk, a new baggage handling system and redesigned car parking.

You need more space airside BrumX or the congestion will undo all the good work . Once the Brum goes over 1m pax a month it is simply heaving in there and that looks like being all the time from April to October nowadays with only a few quiet months when things are comfortable in there. It used to be a July-August problem only, until last year.
