Desert Crossings is a 444 ha mixed-use development that is deeply rooted in the Arabian culture, anchoring its concept vision on the life, culture and journeys of the Bedouins of Arabia. It is an experience of garden visions, walkable streets, and an array of modern architectural character creating an oasis in the middle of the desert. At the heart of the development is the 287,500 sm Desert Crossings Mall surrounded by shop houses with the features of the Bedouin Village. Included are eighteen (18) 25-storey Office Towers, residential zones of medium-density townhouses, spacious waterfront and garden villas, and ten (10) 12-storey towers.

cadiz international is also the designer of the proposed jumeirah lake towers
i have contacted them a couple of times but didn't get any reply
so don't take these projects too serious, there has never been a press release or confirmation on one of their proposals!!!!!

anyway, i would like to see this one. looks pretty nice

They have some designs for some malls which did go through. Like the Reef, I think.

There's one called Manar. Even if another design is chosen, I still think al-Ghurair are planning to go ahead with it. They have a Dubai National School for Abu Dhabi as well.

is this just a proposal or is this project for real? Around how many major malls are in dubai or will be in dubai in the coming years?

someone should check this site, http://www.cadizinternational.com, i took it from the pic which dozer girl posted. It has at least two dozen project proposals for dubai, some are really nice.. so hope one of the dubai crew posts them..

everything there is proposed by them
if we would create threads for all proposals the forum would be a supersized mess

we should not forget about all the shopping boulevards in all these towers. every single tower has a small shopping boulevard
also hotels have these!
but i would just like to list malls!

Dubai Lover - you also forgot the Crescent Mall in Festival City, and isn't DragonMart in International City also a mall, at least part of it is.

Qatar4Ever - I posted some of the tower proposals on that site in the project development chat, but they seem to only be proposals. Dubai-Lover says that they're not confirmed and there's no more info about them.

The only project on the site which I know has gone through, is the Reef Mall, which opened this year. So, maybe the others will be announced in time. Even if the Cadiz design isn't chosen, the al-Ghurair Group probably have their mind set on buildings such projects, so they will eventually select another designer, but the project would go ahead in the end. At least I hope so.

Sorry. You mentioned those already. But I thought the Marina Mall was going to be on Palm Jebel Ali, not Jumeira.

yep, when i mentionned festival city mall i meant the crescent mall a/k/a festival center

and yes, marina mall is located on palm jebel ali!
the one on palm jumeirah is called marina village center!

so we forgot one in the list

Hmm.. so there's be Marina Mall Palm Jebel Ali, Dubai Marina Mall, and Marina Village Centre Palm Jumeira.

There's already a Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi.

the malls that are open right now .. do they all have the same stores.. i mean u can only have that many zaras and mangos in one city

district: al muraqabat
street: salah el din road resp. al maktoum hospital road

near dubai airport

go al maktoum bridge to deira, clock tower roundabout, you're on abu baker al siddique road, turn left into salah el din road resp. al maktoum hospital road

Qatar for ever , i heard somehwere 60-70% of the stores moving into the new malls are new to the ME

I've never been to the Reef Mall, but I think it's exactly opposite the entrance to the Deira City Centre mall parking. It's on the same street on the other side. An orange building.

The one uve mentioned is called Dubai mall i think. Al Reef mall is near al AL Gurar area.

That's called Dubai Shopping mall the reef mall is on al muragabat road
Dubai Shopping mall is a small shopping mall but with new shops i havn't seen any of them in anyother mall

Reef mall is just next to Toys'R'Us and oposite Reinassance hotel.
