But EH wouldn't touch it. They said it had no architectural or historical merit. The owners (BAE) are very likely to get rid of them because they want a housing development over the whole of Filton Airfield (indeed, they discussed the listing with EH in private).

Then they went and listed these rusting blocks of concrete later last year.

I just can't fathom it?
Outrageous, there must be a body we can complain to about them

With difficulty. Your best bet is to go to site and photograph it from a variety of different locations to see what will surround your project. You also need to look at the reflections in existing buildings (wherever possible) from the angle you decide to render the visual and then make as good a guess as you can.

This is what I do at any rate and I create renders for a living.

Is there only 1 rendering of this? I have seen the scale designs but it would be great to see how this relates to Leadenhall - i think it creates this big V shape that St Pauls can be see thru .....could be really cool

The original image is no longer on Flickr or anywhere else, afaict. This is a smaller version, still cached by Google, which I've enlarged a bit. Hence, the grotty quality.

Well, I thought a nice round number like 100 would be a better generalisation for the height difference, which made me use feet.

Am I correct in thinking this has a squared off side backpack a bit like the Shard? It's hard to judge by the carefully selected renders.

I wish the planning authorities would crack down on these things and take the architectural purity to fruition. Much rather a slightly taller building that a slightly compromised one.

Otherwise great design.

Any new developments on this?
Heres a nice render:

It'll look nice next to the Willlis Building

As far as I can see its scheduled for completion in 2017 :o
And construction to start at the end of this year.

Its a bit of a non-view, the render taken floats on an imaginary platform,

someone on here even said such a contrived view would make them feel ill but they wont even see it.
