Belo Horizonte? Can't say I'm not surprised, I would have expected Rio or Sampa. Good for BH in any case.

Interesting proposal, it kind of reminds me of the Tower Verre project in New York.

Tower complex Andradas

Farkasvolgyi Arqhitectura project, will be the tallest skyscraper in Latin America. The municipal Secretary of development of Belo Horizonte, Marcello Faulhaber, recognizes that the draft has been submitted to the city. "The idea is to make an urban operation in this region and the area is in Studio within the concept of the urban plan.", says the Secretary. With a planned investment of US $1 billion, the architectural complex that includes, in addition to the torre de cristal, a multipurpose with capacity for 40,000 people, besides being a space for the celebration of sporting events, would be able to accommodate large conferences and shows and fairs.

A space of entertainment with 40 square meters, is also provided. "The proposal is that he was installed the first IMAX Theater in Belo Horizonte". The site also has a theater and museums, and an ice skating rink. Everything related to the cultural scene ", explains Bernard Farkasvolgyi, director of the architecture firm and creator of the project." In total will be 500 thousand square meters of constructed area, with 10,000 parking spaces available. The giant Tower is totally commercial and adds 100 thousand square meters of sales area, they are not divided in rooms, but in consecutive floors. "We are defining the way in commercial plants, which may vary from an area of 800 to 2.2 million square metres," estimated Bernardo. It is estimated that every square meter sells for about $10,000, through direct marketing. The great step to take is the economic and financial viability of the multi-million dollar project. "We are looking for investors," said Bernardo. "The talks are already well advanced with two foreign funds in real estate." In Brazil, two construction companies have shown interest in the business ", adds the architect." Prospecting partners today includes the Middle East, the scene of the Tower of the largest in the world, the Burj Dubai in Dubai, with 828 metres high. "What is really lacking is close investors expected to be between three and four." Therefore, we give you a gas is important to make the project viable, "the architect estimated."The intention is to conclude the negotiations by the end of this year, so at the beginning of 2013, the project will continue the Mayor for approval. "Are you would need at least another year for approval." With this, the works could begin in 2014 ", estimated Bernardo."

Total construction period is at least five years, therefore, completed by 2020. "The more current limitation of the project is the cost." This is a very costly undertaking, with a load of great value ", recognizes Bernard."Marcello Faulhaber, municipal Secretary of development is agreed on that, currently, the large impasse is based on the economic viability of the company. "When we present, the original investor group would not be able to touch it", recalls. To Fallhauber it is undeniable importance of the complex. "It is a clear need for a space for events for the city." On the other hand, the architectural aspect and tourism would be a huge gain ", he says."
