Sejarah awal Lebuhraya Karak FT2 / Karak Expressway FT2 early history
Salam sejahtera,

terowong_6 by suff79, on Flickr

YB Datuk Haji Abdul Ghani Gilong, Menteri Kerjaraya Dan Kemudahan-Kemudahan Awam sedang melihat sendiri Bilik Gerakan pemantauan terowong.

image hosted on flickr

terowong_2 by suff79, on Flickr

News on NKVE expansion - no mention of expansion of PLUS from Nilai Utara to Seremban?

http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v6/ne....php?id=640645

PLUS To Build Additional Lane On NKVE From Jalan Duta To Shah Alam, Rawang
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- In order to reduce traffic congestions along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), PLUS Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PLUS) will build an additional lane in both directions from Jalan Duta to Shah Alam and Rawang.

PLUS managing director Datuk Noorizah Abd Hamid said the project, which would see the addition of a fourth lane with a length of 35km, was aimed at providing comfort to the road users, especially during peak hours.

"The project is expected to begin in the second quarter of this year and will take two or three years to be fully completed and opened to the public," she told reporters after launching the travel time advisory in conjunction with the Chinese New Year here.

Noorizah said the land survey work along the route had also reached the final stage, but the total cost for the project had yet to be finalised.

"We are in the final process of acquiring the land and designing the road. We can only finalise the cost and open the tender for the project after that," she added.

This is quite bad as parking from a Highway Rest Village overflowed to the north-bound (Penang) of the 966km North-South Expressway Malaysia. Almost every 60km there'll be a rest village.

Motorists heading to the Federal Highway.

These are pictures from the early morning rush hour of Connaught Highway lah. Although they are circulated like wild fires on the Internet but these are not 'balik kampung' pictures.

Other than MRT, we need good bus system & network also, to feed the crowd to MRT stations. Our local government also have to make good town planning to have better control on crowd, business and traffic flow....

West Coast Expressway Contract Awarded

http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_New...cle/index_html

KUALA LUMPUR: West Coast Expressway Sdn Bhd, a 64.2 per cent subsidiary of Kumpulan Europlus Bhd, will undertake the proposed
construction of the West Coast Expressway, estimated to cost RM7.07 billion.

To enhance the viability of the project, the government would grant a Government Support Loan (GSL) of RM2.24 billion, commencing from 2013 at an interest rate of four percent per annum and an interest subsidy, of up to three per cent from commercial loans for 22 years.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia here today, Kumpulan Europlus said the terms of the GSL and the interest subsidy, would be finalised by West Coast with the Finance Ministry.

It said toll revenue in excess of an agreed traffic volume would be shared on the basis of 70:30 between the government and West Coast till full settlement of the GSL and subsequently 30:70 after the settlement.

As for land acquisition, the cost of up to RM980 million would be borne by the government.

Meanwhile, construction works for the project would be implemented by West Coast through open tender, said Kumpulan Europlus.

The project, which is a build-operate-transfer (BOT) project with a concession period of 60 years, cover a distance of 316 kilometres from Banting in Selangor to Taiping in Perak.

Of the total distance, 224 km will be tolled while 92 km will be
toll-free. - Bernama

Like...if you tend to build more and wider highway but at the same time you forcing people to buy a car by having poor public transport...the same story never gonna be ending...
