exactly, but soon it can change, because there are a lot of investment in the area. The ciudad vieja in the 70's or 80's was a decadent area, lot of buildings were abandoned and people without home lived there.

I remember each corner here but I don't know that black building in the first photo, sure it's a new one. Looks like it has entrance for Ejido and for San José street, isn't it ?

What's that, Offices, Hotel, apartments ?

Thank you, anyway I can't remember what was there before and I looked at the web of this Hotel and I think isn't a new Building, only a restructuration.

Amazing how many new Hotels there are in Montevideo ! Recently I became a Newsletter from Accor Hotels (Sofitel) and they announce yet the opening of Hotel Carrasco for september ! I would like to travel to Uruguay for this opening and spend my time in Montevideo in that Hotel.

didn't think so, because it doesn't have dividing wall, and in the past they always build with dividing wall

Yes, the reopening of the Carrasco Hotel is one of the best news in the city since long time ago, because this hotel was a jewel of the city that, once again, will shine!!

Nice architecture and there are not a lot of air cables, which is a plus.

Terrible sorry, I wanted to say "where is Pocitos? "

Yes please Pocitos and El Prado as soon as posible ! Those are for me the best neighborhoods in Montevideo, although, in the course of the years they have replaced many works of Art of architecture for modern buildings without style

Nice photos! We don't get to see a lot of Montevideo on these forums. Looks like the city has a lot of historic architecture.
