I don't know about everything in the Chernobyl/Pripyat area, but the NPP diagram you showed is clearly wrong. The roof of unit 4 is around 75m, with another 75m for the old ventilation stack, bringing the top at around 150m.

Thanks for the info. So from what you've said it seems that the SSP diagram is essentially a 60% version of an accurate diagram. The shape looks OK but its dimensions are only 60% of what they should be

Thanks a lot for this information, I was wondering when they'd take it down. Hopefully ChNPP will provide us with some pictures of the dismantling (they haven't posted any NSC update in almost 3 weeks now). From the live cam, we can at least see some good progress on the east side cladding.

PS (Off topic): Someone asked before about a similar sarcophagus for the Fukushima power plant, I managed to find this PDF, detailing part of the plan.

Key numbers :

- 92% of outer cladding before next lift is installed

About the ventilation stack, VIUR from forum.pripyat.com posted some pics of the CC8800. As far as I understood, the ventilation stack is not supposed to be removed until later this year.

Bonus picture from forum.chernobyl-tour.com:

Second lift just started! The ChNPP website informs us that it will span over two days, and the third and last lift should be done later this year. For the record, the first lift occured on november 24, 2012, so just over 6 months ago.

You can watch the (slow) lift live, over at ChNPP.
