Who nominated Mercury Tower? Madness, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Are you certain about the count?

Montparnasse got just 4 votes, Velasca had 2 pages of posts, according to "Search this thread" function.

I don't think it's out because not tall enough, Elephant Building is even less tall and has been nominated.

Probably I had not to tell it because I love Velasca, but I'm aware people that has been in Milan for less than 10 years usually don't like it.

Can't believe that disgusting one in Benidorm didn't get into the top 16... Metlife, St. Mary Axe, Marina Bay, all more ugly than the Bendirom monstrosity? What a joke!

10 if I count right, but that is maybe because London has already 2 competitiors in the list. And 3 out of 16 for the whoole world would be really a bit too much.

The fact that 30 St Mary Axe is in the top 10 list here shows what a ******* shit thread this is, populated largely it seems by a bunch of cretins with no taste.

I mean seriously, I know "everyone is entitled to their own opinion" and all that stuff, but put simply: If you rank 30 St Mary Axe as being ugly, you do not have any right to be on an architecture forum, because your taste in architecture is whack!

About 30 St Mary Axe:

Since its completion, the building has won a number of prestigious awards for architecture. In October 2004, the building was awarded the 2004 RIBA Stirling Prize. For the first time in the prize's history, the judges reached a unanimous decision. In December 2005, a survey of the world's largest firms of architects published in 2006 BD World Architecture 200 voted the tower as the most admired new building in the world.

I know someone, who is now bitterly crying in some corner, that this oh so iconic structure made the list (and not Messeturm).

Maybe the Gherkin is not the best building of all time, it is a shame it appears on this list (especially on a forum like this).

Those *****-buildings including the Gherkin and Torre Agbar have perfect reason to be on the list imho.

Whilst I love the Gherkin (and think, despite The Shard, it is Londons skyscraper) I can understand why some do not like it. SO, people who do not like it are not necessarily trolling.
