I agree that the Velasca Tower in Milan if far from ugly, it matches the Milanese skyline and sits well in context, a good example of using modern technology to emulate past architecture while still being modern. Similar to the Shard London Bridge emulating the many church spires of London.

Please keep the Velasca tower outside of this contest since it is a brutalist building: its alleged ugliness is based upon its style, and it is considered to be a masterpiece of his architectural school and it has been designed by BBPR studio. Is it to ask too much to know something about architecture in an architectural forum? My God how low is the level here...so sad!

I was waiting for someone to say Genex Tower Belgrade,as a matter of fact that's just another example of brutalism,so you don't really hate the building,you hate the style.
People don't like it in general while some of us Belgraders love it.Because we have residential commieblocks we're used to it. |
