Yes, permanent and not actually for the RNC. The RNC was just one of those handy deadlines that you could also get Republicans to go along with. It was funded by Tampa Electric, but they are hoping to use other sources to light the remaining bridges over the next two years. That would be the Harbor Island ones in addition to Laurel and possibly I-275.

It'd be nice to see Laurel & Harbor Island bridges lit up. I-275 may be a while though, as construction will be restarting later this month.
