Well in most cases it seems that the foundation and basement go really slow compared to the rest of the building. That is understandable since you want to be sure the foundation is fully cured before you start adding thousands of tons of weight on it.

Those steel beams are really nice! I hope soon they start pouring concrete to rise another level! Nothing can stop this building now!

An empty lot happened to be there. Until municipal officials start relocating the mid-rise temporary housing in Lujiazui, the few lots near Jin Mao are all that is left.

It looks really huge and the skyline will be fantastic and very impressive, IMO the best in the world When is it supposed to be finished?

2008 or 2009 would be my guess. Official estimates have been unreliable at best. Shanghai stands no chance against Hong Kong unless they place more midrise density around the supertalls. Those temporary housing blocks piss me off.
