Are there trams in Tilsit/Sovetsk today? I was in the city in 2006, but I only remember the big queue in the border crossing near Louise Bridge.

Of course there are NO tramways in Sovyetsk (only "tram-monument"). As there are no trolleybuses in Gumbinen or electrified Kleinbahn lines to every remote village. Actually, soon the last kilometers of tramway lines in Kaliningrad will too be destroyed.

Unfortunately, there are also no more tramways in Klaipėda, but I hope soon they will be reintroduced like in Olsztyn.

I'm sorry guys but unfortunately I had to delete the discussion, it went too far off topic and a discussion like that had too many potential problems.

Hope you understand

It's ok as it really went OT. It was quite interesting though and I'd like to follow it again but in dedicated thread, still - being closely monitored .
Let's get back to Prussia and its heritage (hope Konstantinas that you get the point too )

Are there any concrete plans of reintroduction trams in Kłajpeda?

OK, but too bad. Several posts were very deserving of replies, such as the one by Urbanista.

That said, getting back to the "Prussia andits heritage" tread would be good but this thread, and perhaps the reason for the off-topic tendencies, is less about Prussia and more about Poland. The discussion is somewhat lost in historical timeframes.

As I see, there are left more of Klaipėda castle, than of Kaliningrad.

The tower of Karaliaučius castle reminds the tower of Lentvaris palace near Vilnius.

Did the communists compensate the Hohenzollern family for taking the property and destroying the castle?
