Why? Just tourists or are these old inhabitants of this town or area?

What I really like in protestant churches is that moderation in the decoration and lack of modern kitschy decorations which is noticeable in some part of polish parishes...not all of course.

There are more than 15 epitaphs and tombs of Polish nobility and clergy in Archcathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Andrew in Frombork/Frauenburg, Warmia. Some low-res photos that I've found on the internet...

Epitaphs of Szymon Rudnicki and Paweł Górnicki

Epitaph founded by Jan Wołowski for his brother Mikołaj + parents Jakub Wołowski and Dorota Ciecholewska

Epitaph of Stanisław Bużeński

Epitaph of Adam Konarski

Unfortunately, during the Swedish invasion of Poland nearly all Gothic and Renaissance art works were stolen or destroyed. The interior of that church is now mostly from the 17th and 18th century (luckily the church was largely spared during WW2). There are 23 beautiful altars in Archcathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Andrew in Frombork/Frauenburg...

Altar founded by Adam Stanisław Grabowski (project based on one of the altars from Wawel Cathedral in Kraków); altar founded by Jan Stefan Wydźga and Jan Wołowski

Altar founded by Michał Działyński; altar founded by Fabian Konopacki (renovated by Łukasz Górnicki); altar founded by Andrzej Zagórny

St Saviour's Chapel founded by Krzysztof Szembek (during consecration relics of Saint Wojciech, Saint Stanislaus of Szczepanów and Saint Casimir Jagiellon were located here)

Pipe organs founded by Michał Radziejowski (built by Daniel Nitrowski)

The painting of King of Poland Jan III Sobieski during Corpus Christi procession in Frombork/Frauenburg, Warmia

In addition to the following posts - #646, #994, #1009...

Gothic Bishops' Castle in Lidzbark Warmiński/Heilsberg, Warmia

Front view of the castle (Baroque figure founded by Adam Stanisław Grabowski on the left)

Courtyard

Coat of arms of Marcin Kromer (Kromer), Andrzej Batory (Zęby), Piotr Tylicki (Lubicz), Szymon Rudnicki (Lis) and Jan Albert Waza (Polish Waza) painted on the wall

Sun clock with Adam Stanisław Grabowski's coat of arms

And palace founded by Adam Stanisław Grabowski

At night

During renovation of Ignacy Krasicki's Orangery (#1009) some splendid 18th century frescos have been found, now being restored...

Haven't been there for awhile, but it's a lovely place. Lidzbark Warmiński and Frombork are absolutely must see attractions, when you're visitng Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

I'm wondering though... what does the flag of Cologne have to do with that event?

edit: it was explained some posts later, my bad.

I like this church very much. Do you know what Protestant group this choir is from?

RS_UK-PL - Thank you very much for all of these beautiful photos. These altars are my favorites, but they are all magnificent.
